230V Relay board for Radio Receiver
Ensure that the product is isolated from any power supply before
opening. Opening and installation of the product must be
performed only by a qualified electrician.
The product corresponds to Safety-Class II (without protective earth terminal)
according to VDE 0700/IEC335/EN60335. The use of flexible cable for
connections must be avoided since terminal design does not incorporate
stress relief. The use of solid cable such as NYM is recommended. All
connections must comply with local regulations and standards.
The product complies with the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
requirements of the current European guidelines. Conformity has been
established and the relevant documentation has been deposited by the
manufacturer.
1 Mode of operation
SHR-X L3 verifies coded radio frequency signals sent by corresponding transmitters
and operates relay outputs on receipt of a correct signal.
The rated current for each relay is 6 A / 230 VAC maximum.
It must be noted that for applications or installations involving wireless transmission
and which could have an influence to safety of man or machine there may be a risk
of unforeseen operation from extraneous uncontrolled radio signals.
2 Safety Precautions
Please read, and abide by, the recommendations contained in
these operating instructions. Damage caused by incorrect
application or by failure to follow these operating instructions is
not covered by warranty.
The manufacturer will under no circumstance be held responsible for further
or consequential damage that may be attributed to direct or indirect use of
this product. All changes or modifications not expressly approved by the
manufacturer will void the warranty.
For reasons of safety and conformity (CE) it is not permitted to modify or
change parts of the product.
Repair or any kind of soldering on the circuit board is forbidden.
The product should only be used in a case adequate for mains-voltage !
Connect only to a clean, stable mains power source 230V~/50Hz (refer to
technical data)
A conveniently located mains isolator must be installed into the mains circuit for
hard-wired components.
The electrical system must be equipped with an over current trip, rated at 6A.
Electrical devices should be out of reach of children. Please be extra careful if
children are around.
For commercial use, compliance must be made with the recommendations and
instructions of the responsible regional/national authorities.
Product operation and maintenance must be performed under the supervision
of authorised, qualified personnel.
Opening the product and installation has to be performed by authorised
electricians only.
The product must not be installed or used in places where a risk of explosion
may exist.
Using the receiver during periods where there is a risk of lightning storms is not
recommended and is done at the users own risk
The Relay Board is a state-of-the-art product. However, there is a risk of
danger if installation or operation is performed by unqualified personnel
3 Preparation
For universal use, the product could be operated with the 433MHz receiver-module
SHR-7 as well as the 868MHz SRD – Receiver-module LER-9. In combination with
868MHz, using the 2-Channel-Transmitter SHT-9, simultaniusly pressing both keys
could be defined as a 3. function. (ref. Chapter 7 Coding! )
Start installing the selected Receiver-module for 433 MHz or 868 MHz, connecting
the receiver carefully to the socket on the board (ref. Fig. 1: Circuit Board SHR-X
L3). Make sure the Receiver is fixed and all Pins are connected well.
If necessary, install an ext. Antenna according the recommendations given in the
Operating manual of the receiver.
Mount the product in a case adequate for 230V~/50Hz mains-voltage. Space must
be enough to place all cables correctly and free from the electronic parts inside.
Powered wiring must not be mounted over the electronic board.
Ensure that the antenna is mounted as far as possible away from
power wiring and is not in contact with any powered part particularly
in the terminal connection area.
For further description of functions and features, the correct preparation and
tooling off an receiver-module and installation into the case is expected.
4 Description of Operation
Prior to powering on the receiver, configure first the function that the receiver should
execute based on the sender commands.
Operating Instructions (GB)
Delaytime for Key-function (Jumper 1)
If jumper 1 is set, the corresponding relay will stay closed with a delay time of
100ms as long as the transmitter key remains active.
Installing the receiver in an RF-disturbed area could result in a chattering (relay
contact bounce) during operation if the operating button is pressed for a longer
period. To minimize this effect, all instructions received from a transmitter could be
extended to 500ms by removing jumper 1. The receiver then will operate with
delayed-action correctly under RF disturbance.
Key- or Toggle-function (Jumper 2)
If jumper 2 is inserted, the relays will stay closed as long as the transmitter key
remains active (Key-function). Delay-time set by jumper 1.
If jumper 2 is removed, it is possible to switch on/off the relays. Each signal
command puts the relay into the opposite state. The delay-time set with jumper 1 is
considered to be a „dead time" between the switching processes. While the timer is
running, no new command is executed.
5 Connection
All connections must comply with local regulations and
standards, including VDE0100, VDE0700, VDE0550/0551, VDE0711
and VDE0860. Only solid core cable is to be used for connection,
since stress relief is not provided on the product terminal
connection block. As per DIN 0700 / IEC 335 / EN 60335, no
protective earth cable terminal is provided.
According to regulations, this product must only be installed by a qualified
electrician. If in doubt seek professional help before attempting to install. Incorrect
Installation can damage the product and connected devices and increase the risk of
electric shock, damaged contacts or fire hazard.
Attention. Extreme danger !
When opening the product, live components may be touched.
Isolate SHR-X L3 from the mains power supply before opening.
Ensure that all connected devices and components are also
disconnected from the mains-power supply.
6 Installation
Mount the product in a case adequate for 230V~/50Hz mains-voltage.
To avoid damage to electronics, insert cables only via entries on the screw-
terminal side.
Connect the power cables for 230V~/50Hz into the correct screw-terminals.
Max. cross-section of wires to be used is limited to 1.5 mm²
The connection wires are to be stripped to a maximum of 4 mm. (To avoid
accidental contact)
Connect the wires to devices into screw-terminals for changeover contacts
NO/CC/NC as per fig 1.
All wiring should be installed neatly and rectilinearly. Powered wiring must not
be mounted over the electronic board. Care must be taken that wiring is not
squeezed or damaged.
7 Coding
After the first connection to the mains each receiver SHR-X L3 could be
programmed (taught) with 2 individual address codes with transmission-key for each
relay-output.
For programming the code and transmitter-keys, perform exactly as follows:
Set the transmitter (SHT-7/433MHz or SHT-9/868MHz) to be used to your
individual radio-code.
Briefly press one of 3 "learn" buttons (e.g. S1 for Relais K1) .
Flashing LED indicates active in learning mode.
On the transmitter press the button selected for your application (e.g. Key 1
or Key 2+3 together) until the LED flash rate increases.
The button and radio-code is stored in the receiver. LED continues flashing
until the storing procedure is complete.
Check for error free operation of the receiver by pressing the transmitter
button(s) again when LED is extinguished. If the address is learned correctly,
the clicking operation of the relay will be audible.
Repeat the procedure for the next relays.
Up to 6 codes could be learned by this way (3x2 per relay). Therefore an older code
could be deleted by learning the new one twice.
The learn mode is completed automatically within approx. 60 sec. In case of error
the teach mode may be interrupted by pressing 2 of the buttons simultaneously.
Pressing learn mode buttons 1 and 3 for a minimum of 3 sec. will delete all stored
data.
In normal operation the LED illuminates if an understandable radio signal is received
by the SHR-X L3, even if it is not a previously learned signal (HF-Busy).
In case the programmed transmitter-code or transmitter itself should be
changed, it is a requirement that the receiver also be programmed with the
new code.
Operation of the receiver with an unlimited no. off transmitters is possible by coding
the internal tri-dip-switches off all transmitters to the same code.
