Distance indicator
The LED screen displays the total distance travelled since purchase, as well as the daily distance travelled.
USB socket
Your TilRoue Is fitted with two USB ports which enables you to charge your smartphone for instance.
Safety indicator
1- Speed management
A beep is emitted when you exceed 13 km/h and the TilRoue straightens to improve your speed control.
The faster you travel, the more the TilRoue will tend to straighten to improve your speed control.
2- Tile angle management
When the TilRoue's tilt angle exceeds 40°, a beep is emitted and the motor stops turning in order to protect you and the people
around you. The 40% tilt angle indicates that you have no doubt fallen.
3- Fall Management
A sensor stops the motor when the machine is on the ground.
The principles for using the TilRoue
1. The operating principle
Your TilRoue is fitted with a brushless motor which can operate in both directions (forwards and backwards).
If you lean forward slightly, the unicycle's self balancing system detects your action, and will accelerate and straighten up the front of
the TilRoue slightly, to prevent you losing balance towards the front. Once started you can slow down by leaning slightly backwards.
The self balancing system will also avoid imbalance at the rear.
Safety tip : It is important to lean slightly forward with the pelvis of your body (and not only the shoulders) to move forward or
towards the rear to slow down.
2. First, get accustomed to being stable
Place the TilRoue vertically on the ground and switch it on by pressing the "on" button. The battery charge level will be displayed
and the TilRoue emits a beep.
If the TilRoue tilts towards the front or the rear after it is switched on, keep it vertical and wait until it straightens up and stabilizes.
Keeping 1 foot on the ground, place the other foot on the corresponding footrest. First of all, try to find the point of balance (do not
press either on the front or the rear of the pedal) and then try to make the TilRoue roll slowly towards the front and the rear.
During your different trial runs, you will have to pick the TilRoue up and put it down again. You should switch it off before you pick it
up from the ground. If you forget to switch it off, the TilRoue will lose its grip on the ground and go into safety mode (the battery
display will flash and a continuous sound will be emitted).
3. Practice mounting your TilRoue
When the TilRoue is powered up, steady yourself with a lateral support. Place your first foot on the rest. When the TilRoue is
stable, tilt it slightly towards the opposite foot which is still on the ground to make it easier to position your second foot. Place
your second foot lightly on the foot rest, straighten yourself up, and try to remain stationary. Do this several times until you feel
confident.
4. Training to start and balance laterally
To quickly learn how to master lateral balancing, use the safety strap during this phase, and if possible be assisted by a second
person. The intelligent system which helps the user to maintain his or her front or rear balance does not act on lateral balancing.
Therefore you have to be very careful during this stage.
Place your foot on the corresponding foot rest whilst holding the safety strap in your left hand (if you are right-handed).
Steady yourself using your helper's hand or a lateral support with your other hand.
Tilt the TilRoue towards the left foot which is still on the floor, by pressing on the case with the calf of your right leg, to help
you position your left foot on the second foot rest.
Place your left foot gently on the second footrest.
Straighten up and keep the most upright position possible.
When you have found your balance and you feel ready to start, lean your pelvis gently forwards. Remain as upright and as
relaxed as possible over the first few meters.
After you have ridden 4 or 5 meters, slow down, and then stop by leaning gently backwards.
Repeat this exercise until you feel comfortable with starting and riding over several meters. This is the most difficult part to
learn, but you will quickly master it with training.
You have to acquire the right technique and to be able to ride in a straight line before you can try starting without the help of a
support, or turning.
5. Learning how to turn
You can turn by moving your pelvis and your feet.
We recommend that you learn to turn on a surface which is smooth, big and free of obstacles. You can start by turning in wide
circles (by pivoting the top of your body), at low speed, so you gradually get used to positioning your body and your feet. Then, to
turn left for example, you have to gently push your left foot down on the footrest and bring your right knee towards the left leg to
tilt your TilRoue left.
Maintenance
Maintaining the TilRoue
Protect the TilRoue as much as possible from bad weather (rain, snow etc) as well as the sun.
Important: never use corrosive products with an alcohol or petrol base etc. This could damage the TilRoue's structure
and its internal components (circuit board, battery etc.). Using these products would invalidate the warranty.
Maintaining the battery
Do not expose the TilRoue to extreme temperatures (+50° C to -20°C). For example, do not put the TilRoue in your car in
very hot weather or when temperatures are very low
