8.2. Descaling the appliance

Descale the appliance every 25 to 50 tank-fillings to ensure trouble-free opera-
tion. In areas with hard water, we recommend descaling once a month. Descale the
steam cleaner as soon as you notice any drop in the steam pressure.
To prevent lime scale deposits, you can fill the water tank with distilled water.
CAUTION!
To avoid possible injuries caused by scalding or damage
to surrounding objects caused by escaping steam or lime
scale, never leave the steam cleaner unattended during
descaling.
Descale as follows:
 Fill the water tank with a 1:3 mixture of vinegar and water.
 Replace the water tank.
 Plug the appliance in and switch the steam cleaner on.
 Place the appliance so that escaping steam cannot affect any nearby surfaces or
flooring, e.g. in the bath or in the shower.
 Allow the appliance to produce steam until the water tank is empty.
 Repeat the descaling procedure until the normal steam pressure is restored.
 Afterwards, fill the water tank with fresh water and let the appliance produce
steam until the water tank is empty.

8.3. Descaling accessories

If your nozzles or brushes are blocked with lime scale, proceed as follows:
 Soak the accessories in a 1:3 mixture of vinegar and water or spray a small
amount of lime scale remover into the nozzle/brush.
 Fit the accessories as described in section "6.2. Fitting attachments" on page
105.
 Carry out the descaling procedure as described above until the respective at-
tachment is free of lime scale.

9. Storing the appliance

 Set the on/off switch to 0 to turn off the steam cleaner. Unplug the appliance af-
ter use.
 Allow the appliance to cool down.
 Empty the water tank and rinse it with fresh water.
 Remove the cleaning cloths. Wash them if necessary and/or allow them to dry.
 Allow the steam cleaner and accessories to dry.
 Wind the power cord around the cable retainers.
 Store the appliance in a dry location.
