INTRODUCTION

• Congratulations on your purchase of the QEP Professional Bridge Saw, STK# 83012. The QEP 83012 is designed
and manufactured for utmost reliability and high functioning standards throughout the years.
• This owner's manual contains important instructions regarding the preparation of the Bridge Saw on site and all
the necessary information about spare parts, cleaning and maintenance.
• It is essential for the operator to have suitable experience and a good understanding of the Bridge Saw.
• The operator must read, know and adhere strictly to all the instructions contained in this owner's manual,
both those regarding cutting operations and those concerning ordinary and special maintenance procedures.
• The owner's manual must be considered as a part of the Bridge Saw and must therefore be kept with it at
all times.
• In case this owner's manual is damaged or lost, the operator can request a new copy from QEP.
• Special attention must be given to the parts of the owner's manual listed under:
WARNING: THIS INDICATES OPERATIONS AND PARTS OF THE BRIDGE SAW, WHICH ARE POTENTIALLY
HAZARDOUS TO THE CORRECT FUNCTIONING/THE LIFE OF THE BRIDGE SAW, AND ITS PARTS.
DANGER: THIS INDICATES OPERATIONS OR PARTS OF THE BRIDGE SAW, WHICH ARE POTENTIALLY
HAZARDOUS TO THE OPERATOR.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BRIDGE SAW
WARNING: ANY TYPE OF REPAIRS OR MAINTENANCE MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE BRIDGE SAW
DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY.
Read the owner's manual carefully before installing, starting and using the bridge saw or carrying out
maintenance work or any other type of work on the saw.
1. Do not allow unauthorized personnel to work on the bridge saw.
2. Do not wear rings, watches, jewelry, loose or torn clothing that could get caught in the moving parts.
3. Always keep long hair tied back.
4. Keep clear of the bridge saw operating area.
5. Never start up the bridge saw if any technical faults have been found.
6. Before using the bridge saw check that any potential hazards have been eliminated.
7. Advise technical personnel of any operational malfunction
8. Make sure that all the protective guards are correctly in position and that all the safety devices are present
and in proper working order.
9. Observe all the procedures and information in this owner's manual with regards to maintenance and
technical assistance.
10. Do not use gas, solvents or other flammable liquids for cleaning purposes.
11. Use commercially-approved non-flammable, non-toxic solvents.
12. Do not put excessive pressure on the blade since this could cause destructive bending of the blade during
cutting and could also cause the motor and blade to overheat.
13. Only one operator may use the saw at a time.
14. With the exception of the operator, all persons must keep clear of the bridge saw during cutting.
15. Personal safety equipment must always be worn when using the bridge saw.

SAFETY AND PROTECTIVE DEVICES

The Bridge Saw is equipped with a blade safety guard; the operator is
therefore protected from potential accidental contact with the blade itself,
fragments of material and also from noise.
The blade safety guard is fixed and almost covers the entire blade (Fig.1).
A blade safety guard is a type of protective guard is made up of two parts
joined together by 4 screws, which facilitate blade replacement when
necessary. The protective guard nearly covers the entire blade and is
connected to the motor
WARNING: USING THE BRIDGE SAW WITHOUT THE SAFETY BLADE GUARD IS PROHIBITED.
