The Guardian Connect application (app) is a component of the Guardian Connect
Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system. The Guardian Connect CGM system
helps you manage your diabetes by:
• Recording your glucose values throughout the day and night
• Showing the effects that diet, exercise, and medication can have on your glucose
levels
• Giving you additional tools, such as alerts, the ability to record diet and exercise,
and access to CareLink
This user guide is designed to help you understand the setup and operation of your
Guardian Connect app.

System description

CGM is a sensor glucose monitoring tool that uses a glucose sensor placed below
your skin to continuously measure the amount of glucose in your interstitial fluid. It
allows users to track patterns in glucose concentrations and to identify episodes of
low and high glucose. The Guardian Connect CGM system includes the Guardian
Connect app (CSS7200), an app that can be downloaded onto a mobile device with
a compatible operating system version. A list of compatible operating system
versions is available in the app store found on your mobile device. The app displays
sensor glucose data, and also provides a user interface for sensor calibration, for
entering data such as exercise and meals, and for uploading information to the
CareLink Personal website.
The Guardian Connect app displays alerts if a glucose level reaches, falls below, or
rises above set values. The app also provides the interface for manually entering
fingerstick blood glucose calibration values obtained from a commercial blood
glucose meter. The app then stores the sensor glucose data so that it can be
analyzed to track patterns.
