Replacing the threaded mandrel /
mouthpiece
Select threaded mandrel / sleeve and mouth-
■
piece as per table [I] and replace as shown in
the figures [II] to[IX].
Adjusting the stroke
Turn the adjustment ring [1] to half the stroke
■
scale setting (6) [Fig. X].
Fully open both levers on the tool and correctly
■
screw a rivet nut / rivet bolt to the threaded
mandrel / threaded sleeve [2] [Fig. XI/XII].
Adjust the mouthpiece so that you can see at
■
least ONE turn of the mandrel thread [2] at
the rivet nut front flange when the rivet nut is
screwed in [Fig. XI].
When using rivet bolts, always screw mouth-
■
piece [3] in fully [Fig. XII].
Rivet one nut in a metal plate to perform a test.
■
For this purpose place the setting tool perpen-
dicular to the hole and insert the rivet nut / rivet
bolt to the stop [Fig. XIII].
Then push together the two levers on the setting
■
tool by applying force [Fig. XIV].
The threaded mandrel / sleeve must be un-
■
screwed from the rivet nut / rivet bolt [Fig. XV]
by pulling the knob [4] to be able to remove the
setting tool from the workpiece.
Check the riveting result and correct the stroke
■
of the setting tool as necessary.
If the compression of the rivet nut / rivet bolt is
■
inadequate (insufficient fastening in the metal
sheet) the stroke must be increased [Fig. XVI].
For this purpose set the adjustment ring [1] to a
higher value on the scale (6-12) and re-adjust
mouthpiece [3].
CAUTION!
If the compression of the rivet nut /rivet bolt is
■
excessive (risk of fracture) the stroke must be
reduced [Fig. XVI]. For this purpose set the ad-
justment ring [1] to a lower value on the scale
(6-1) and re-adjust mouthpiece [3].

the date of purchase and in accordance with the
legal/country-specific regulations (proof of purchase
through invoice or delivery note).
Damage that has occurred will be corrected either
by replacement or by repair. Damage caused by
improper handling is not covered by the warranty.
Claims under warranty can only be accepted if
the device is returned fully assembled to a Würth
agency, your Würth sales representative or an
authorised Würth customer service workshop.
