When setting up the speaker system,
always make sure that air will be able to
flow freely through the cooling fins on the
rear; otherwise, problems may occur due to
overheating of the amplifier and the protec-
tive circuit will mute the sound .
4.2 Connection
Before making or changing any existing con-
nections, switch off the speaker system and
the units to be connected .
1) Feed the audio input signal via an XLR
plug or 6 .3 mm plug to the jack INPUT (7) .
This jack allows to connect the line level
output, e . g . of a mixer, CD / MP3 player
or preamplifier . When connecting a line
level output, make sure that the button
LINE / MIC (5) is disengaged .
Alternatively, connect a microphone
to this jack . In this case, engage the but-
ton LINE / MIC .
2) If another active speaker system is re-
quired for sound applications in larger
zones, connect the line level input of this
speaker system to the XLR output THRU
(6) . The input signal of the jack INPUT is
present at this output .
3) For power supply, use the mains cable
provided to connect the mains jack (12)
to a mains socket (230 V/ 50 Hz) .

5 Operation
1) To prevent the initial volume from being
too high, set the control LEVEL (4) to MIN
before switching on . Then switch on the
speaker system with the POWER switch
(11) . Switch the front LED on or off as de-
sired using the corresponding button (3) .
2) Engage the button GND LIFT (6) for test-
ing: If there is no music signal and an
annoying hum can be heard, this hum
may be due to a ground loop . In this case,
disengage the button .
Ground loops may occur when two
units are connected both via their signal
ground and via the ground conductor of
the power supply or a conductive connec-
tion of the housings . In case of a hum,
test both positions of the button GND
LIFT .
3) Use the control LEVEL to adjust the de-
sired volume .
CAUTION Never adjust a very high
accustomed to high volumes which do
not seem to be that high after some
time . Therefore, do not further increase
a high volume after getting used to it .
4) Engage the button HPF 75 Hz (2)* if
– a subwoofer is used for the low fre-
quencies
