• The Voltage Tester operates correctly only within a
temperature range of -15°C to +55°C at relative air
humidity less than 95% (without condensation).
• If the safety of the user cannot be guaranteed, the
Voltage Tester must be switched off and secured
against unintentional use.
• Safety is no longer guaranteed in the following cases:
- obvious damage
- if the Voltage Tester can no longer perform the
required measurements/ tests
- stored for too long in unfavourable conditions
- damaged during transport
- leaking batteries
• For all work, observe the accident prevention
regulations of the professional trade association for
electrical installations and equipment.
• Unauthorized persons shall not assemble the Voltage
Tester and supplementary equipment. The Voltage
Tester may be serviced by an authorized service
technician only.
• Operational safety is no longer guaranteed if the
Voltage Tester is modified or altered.

Before Using the Tester

W
Before conducting any test, follow the safety
instructions. Before using the Voltage Tester, always
perform a function test.
The test probe covers
tests. To do this, pull them forward off the test probes.
W
The test probe covers
regulations or directives.
Switching ON / OFF the Tester / Auto Power Off:
By pressing the pushbutton
Voltage Tester can be switched ON without applying any
voltage to the test probe. The torchlight is now ON and
the tester is also ready to test continuity(for 2100-Beta, the
LC display is also ON and shows "---").
If no voltage is applied to the test probes and no
continuity is detected, the Voltage Tester and torchlight
automatically switches OFF after approx. 30 seconds.
The Tester can be switched OFF manually by pressing the
pushbutton
Function Test/Self-Test:
• Switch on Voltage Tester by pushing the button
and connect test probes. The LED for continuity test
7
Rx
shall be ON. If this LED is not ON, the batteries
must be changed. If the battery symbol is indicated on
the display, the batteries must be changed (2100-Beta
only).
• Before and after use, always test the voltage testers
on a known voltage source.
W
The voltage testers must no longer be used if one or
more functions fail or if no functionality is indicated.
W
Remove discharged batteries from the Voltage Tester
to prevent any leaks immediately.
The voltage display functions even without batteries
at voltages >24 V (display via LED row)
The voltage testers 2100-Alpha and 2100-Beta
feature a switchable load which trips a 10 mA or 30 mA
RCD/FI earth leakage circuit breaker. For voltage tests (L
against PE) in systems with RCD/FI earth leakage circuit
breaker, the RCD/FI earth leakage circuit breaker can be
tripped when the two push buttons
