• Attention! Hazard of fire! Overheated fats and oils can inflame.
Therefore, food containing fats and oils may only be prepared under
supervision!
• Never splash cold water on the hot heating plate!
• Appliance and accessories must have cooled completely before cleaning or
moving them!
• Observe the following when setting up the appliance:
o Place the appliance on a heat-resistant, stable and even surface (no
varnished surfaces, no table cloths etc.).
o Place it beyond children's reach.
o Leave a sufficient ventilation distance around the appliance to avoid
damage by heat or fat splatters and to grant an unobstructed work area.
o Unhindered air supply has to be ensured.
o Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of sources of heat (oven,
gas flame etc.) or in explosive environments, where inflammable liquids
or gases are located.
Attention! Hazard of fire! This appliance is not qualified for
installation.
• Do not use the appliance as space heater.
• Pull the power plug after each use for safe switch-off.

Prior to initial use

Take the power cord out of the cord storage.
In case you use a model with tension selection switch (type RK 501/SU) you first have to verify the correct
setting (115 or 230 V) in accordance with the used power supply!
Plug in the power plug.
Heat up the appliance without a pot for approximately 5 minutes at maximum setting. This will
give maximum protection to the coating of the plate. Please disregard the slight temporary formation of
harmless smoke.
