Always switch the machine off and wait until it
has come to a standstill before placing it down.
Never allow children to use the machine.
Bosch is only able to ensure perfect operation
of the machine if the original accessories in-
tended for it are used.
Replacing the Sanding Disc
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Selecting the sanding disc
Depending on the material to be worked, different
sanding sheet qualities are to be used:
For the working of all wooden materials
For the working of paint/enamel coats or primers
and fillers.
For the working of extreme hard materials such
as stone, marble, granite, ceramic or glass.
Replacing the Sanding Disc
Before placing on a new sanding sheet, free the
sanding plate from dust and dirt.
To ensure optimum dust extraction, the holes of
the sanding sheet must match with those of the
sanding plate.

(see figure

)
The sanding sheets are placed directly onto the
sanding plate. The hole pattern in the sanding
plate and sanding sheet must match.
Sanding Sheets without Velcro Attachment
(see figure

)
For clamping or changing the sanding sheets,
open both the clamping levers 7.
Slide the sanding sheet under the open clamping
strip and clamp firmly.
Make sure that the sanding sheet 9 lies taught on
the sanding plate. Wrap the sanding sheet round
and clamp tightly at the front end in the same

Dust Extraction
Internal Vacuuming with Dust Box
(see figures
C1-C4
Attaching the dust box:
Place the dust box 5 onto the suction adapter 6;
in so doing, the locking lever 12 must notch.
Insert the dust box with adapter into the blow-out
mounting 11.
Emptying the dust box:
Pull off the dust box with adapter.
Before opening the dust box, it is recommended
to loosen the dust from the filter element by strik-
ing against a hard surface.
Grasp the dustbox by the recessed grip, fold the
filter element (micro filtersystem) 13 upwards and
empty the dust box 5. Clean the thin plates of the
filter system with a soft brush.
Caution, fire hazard!
In unfavourable conditions, e. g. when
sparks emit from sanding metals, sand-
ing-debris in the dust bag, microfilter or paper
sack (or in the filter sack or filter of the
wet/dry vacuum cleaner) can self-ignite. Par-
ticularly, when mixed with remainders of var-
nish, polyurethane or other chemical materi-
als and when the sanding debris is hot after
long periods of working.
Avoid overheating the object being sanded as
well as the power tool and always empty the
dust collector before work-breaks.
External Dust Extraction
(see figure
)
D
For long periods of working with wood or for com-
mercial use on materials that produce dust that is
detrimental to health, the machine is to be con-
nected to a suitable external dust extraction de-
vice.
When working with the 35 mm ø suction hose a
reducer must also be used 14*.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the ma-
terial to be worked.
When vacuuming dry dust that is especially detri-
mental to health or carcinogenic, use a special
vacuum cleaner.
