- Wait for power supply to be restored.
- Switch on the built-in cutout switch and
the wall cutout switch.
- Switch the ironer on again by pressing the
START push button.

7.2 USEFUL TIPS

Sort out the laundry to be ironed according
to the type of fabric and start ironing the
garments requiring low-temperature.
Leave the most resistant fabrics last and
gradually increase the ironing temperature
through the thermostat. You will then start
ironing sooner without having to wait for
the basin to cool when shifting from high to
low temperatures.
The items to be ironed must contain a
humidity ranging between 20 and 25%. In
the version with lamellar padding this
range is extended from 25% to as much as
45-50% R.H., by virtue of the appliance's
extracting system and adjustable driving
speed. In machines without fume extraction
the humidity must be ranging between 10
and 20%.
WARNING: Starched laundry must be
ironed last.
Press the luminous start push button (make
sure that the green LED lights up). The
machine will then be ready for use. Then
select the desired temperature as explained
above. With the basin standing in its rest
position, it will be possible to start working
as soon as the set temperature is reached.
Lay the clothes to be ironed on the wooden
board spreading them out carefully and then
press the pedal. The roller will start turning
and the ironing basin will be lowered. The
roller automatically drags the cloths under
the basin, so avoiding the risk of getting
burnt. The ironed laundry will be dropped
in the laundry-collecting basket. Press the
pedal again to raise the basin and iron
another garment. Appliances featuring a
speed regulator can iron very stubborn
fabrics, since a reduction of the driving
speed from 4 to 2 meters per minute
provides good ironing results.
ATTENTION:
1) IRON USING THE ENTIRE ROLLER
SURFACE
This is very important in order to distribute
the heat uniformly on the roller and to
reduce the wear of the flannel cover.
2) DO NOT IRON LAYERS OF
LAUNDRY THICKER THAN 8mm as this
would quickly wear the cover of the roller.
3) POSSIBLY IRON SINGLE LAYERS
OF LAUNDRY. For best results do not
introduce folded items, because the
innermost layer may not be ironed
sufficiently.
OPERATION WITHOUT FUME
EXTRACTION DEVICE
As far as its functions are concerned the
version without exhauster does not differ
from the one provided with an exhausting
system. There are, however, a few
considerations that must be born in mind:
1) Versions without exhauster cannot iron
clothes containing high relative humidity: the
steam and fume produced would not be
disposed of and the laundry would
consequently be released still wet. The user
would therefore ought to iron it again and
again, which would entail a loss in
productivity and a useless waste of energy. It
is advisable that these machines do not iron
fabrics containing relative humidity higher
than10÷15 %.
2) When dealing with very stubborn fabrics
like denims and very thick and/or wrinkled
cloths, it may be necessary to do two runs,
since it is not possible to slow down the roller
speed and so let the fabric stay under high-
temperature pressure longer.
As for all the remaining descriptions and
directions, the same instructions and
restrictions expressed in the general
description apply.
7.3 SUGGESTIONS
Do not keep the appliance on to no purpose.
TURN OFF the main cutout switch when
the appliance is not being used.
During operation remember:
- When the appliance is left on at rest for
over 20 minutes it will go off automatically
and consequently save energy. To start the
appliance again, just press the START push
button and repeat the steps above.
- Mind your hands when introducing clothes.
- In case of a black-out when the basin is
down on the roller, open the emergency
door quickly and raise the basin by turning
the ad-hoc handwheel clockwise, thus
avoiding burns to both the garments and the
roller cover.
- Before carrying out any cleaning or
maintenance, make sure that both the built-
in cutout switch and the wall cutout switch
are off.
- When the machine is not being supplied
with power the yellow lamp on the STOP
push button is off.
- Do not iron garments which have been
cleaned, dampened or washed with
inflammable or explosive substances unless
they have been washed in water beforehand.
- Keep inflammable chemical agents far
from the appliance. Store them in dry and
aired compartments, inaccessible to
unauthorised personnel.
- Keep the machine's cleaners and polishers
far from the ironer itself.
7.4 SPECIAL USE AND SAFETY
PROCEDURES
During the first hours of use remember that:
- The correct working angle between the
operator's arm and forearm is 90°. If the
15
operator is very short, a platform should
enable the above-mentioned working
position. Conversely, if the operator is very
tall, install the appliance on a suitable
platform. A correct working position allows
a higher productivity and better ironing
results.
- Using the wooden board when preparing
the clothes to be introduced into the ironer
is very important in order to avoid getting
scalded.

7.5 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

(USER'S TASK)
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY
MAINTENANCE , MAKE SURE THAT
THE MAIN CUTOUT SWITCH ON
THE WALL AHEAD OF THE
APPLIANCE IS OFF.
The appliance does not require any particular
care thanks to its ergonomic design and to
its being manufactured with very reliable,
high-quality parts.
During cleaning and maintenance do not
stick tools or hands into the moving parts of
the machine (motor, chain, etc.). The
manufacturer disclaims any responsibility
for any personal injury or property damage
resulting from using, cleaning or
maintaining.
Clean the external panels with a damp cloth
regularly. Never use inflammable or abrasive
cleaners.
DO NOT USE WATER JETS TO
CLEAN THE APPLIANCE.
Every 100 operating hours, apply antistatic
wax onto the inner surface of the basin in
order to allow the fabrics to slide through
more easily and to keep the basin clean. To
apply wax follow the instructions provided
by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Every 100 operating hours, disassemble the
roller cover by untying the strings that are
underneath the cotton sheet on both sides of
the roller. Wash the sheet in warm water
(outer cover) and soak the thick flannel
layer in cold water (inner cover). Dry the
flannel layer in the shade and put the sheet
back on the roller still damp without ironing
it.
At the end of maintenance, leave the basin
up so that it does not touch the roller.
PRIOR TO TURNING ON THE BUILT-
IN CUTOUT SWITCH ON THE WALL,
FIT ALL THE PANELS BACK IN
PLACE.
