9. Maintenance and care (fig. H)
Make sure that the illuminated area (15) of the illumina base
plate (6) is free of stains and dirt. If necessary remove these
before operation.
Clean the devices with a soft dry cloth. On no account use
petrol or other solvents.
With 5215 all the moving parts are designed for use without
regular maintenance.
If the height adjustment does not move smoothly after
some time, it is usually sufficient to apply a very thin film of
Vaseline to the column (a piece of cloth is best for this). If
this does not work the height adjustment on the back of
the camera arm holder (1) can be loosened. Do this by
evenly loosening the two lower metal screws (29).
If the height adjustment works too easy in a way, that the
loaded camera moves downwards by itself or just by
touching it unintentionally, loosen the four plastic screws
(28) and tighten the two lower metal screws (29) evenly.
Now tighten again the four plastic screws (28) and subse-
quently rotate them anti-clockwise for a quarter turn. (The
plastic screws serve for guiding the camera arm holder and
may not affect its movement rate.)
To prevent the camera arm holder from "tipping over" (i.e.
not being in a right angle position towards the column),
tighten the four plastic screws (28) and subsequently rotate
them anti-clockwise for a quarter turn.
Please make sure that the upper two metal screws (27) are
always tightened securely.
