FIREPLACE LOCATION
When choosing a location for your new fireplace, ensure that the general instructions are followed. Also,
for best effect, install the fireplace out of direct sunlight.
Cold climate installation recommendation: When installing this unit against a non-insulated
exterior wall or chase, the outer walls must be insulated to conform to applicable insulation
codes.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

A 15 AMP, 120 Volt, 60 Hz circuit with a properly grounded outlet is required. Preferably, the fireplace will
be on a dedicated circuit as other appliances on the same circuit may cause the circuit breaker to trip or
the fuse to blow when the heater is in operation. The unit comes standard with 6 ft. three-prong cord,
exiting from the rear of the fireplace. Plan the installation to avoid the use of an extension cord. If an
extension cord must be used, it must be a minimum 14 AWG, three wire with grounding type plug
connector and rated not less than 1875 watts. The cord shall not be more than 20 ft. in length.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance can be operated by both remote control and manual button. Once the unit has been prop-
erly connected to an earthed electrical outlet, turn on the main power switch located on the left hand side
of the appliance. A beep should be heard when the power is first applied.
CAUTION! The unit power cord must be connected to a properly grounded and protected 120V
NOTE: To use both remote control and manual functions, the main power switch must be in
"ON" position.
OPERATING BY MANUAL BUTTON
The manual button on the fireplace does not provide you with all function controls. Its purpose is to con-
trol some basic functions when not using the remote control. Please use the remote control to carry out
all functions.
TO ACCESS CONTROL PANEL
Control panel can be accessed at upper-right side of the fireplace (Fig. 1)
MAIN POWER SWITCH
The POWER switch supplies power to all of the functions of the fireplace. This switch must be in the "ON"
position for the remote control to work.
FLAME BUTTON
By pressing the FLAME button, the unit will cycle through eight flame and backlight effects. If you need
more flame and backlight effects, please use the remote control.
