Preparing the hair
• Wash your hair and dry it well.
• Comb your hair thoroughly. Do not use hairspray or other flammable chemical hair care
products.
• Place a hand towel around your neck to prevent the possibility of skin burns.
Switching on the appliance
• Use the locking switch (g) to open the appliance (see fig. 1). Insert the mains plug and switch
on the appliance using the ON/OFF switch (b)(see fig. 2). The temperature level of 170°C
indicated in display (d) flashes until the appliance has reached its pre-set temperature of 170°C
(see fig. 3). The pre-set temperature is reached after approx. 1 minute.

• Select the suitable temperature for your hair type. Notes on this are found in the table below!
Setting lower temperature levels
• Press the "–" key repeatedly on the rocker switch (c) until the required temperature level is
set. Minimum temperature 130°C.
Setting higher temperature levels
• Press the "+" key repeatedly on the rocker switch (c) until the required temperature level is
set (fig. 4b). Maximum temperature 230°C.
Note!
• For every newly selected temperature level, the indicator in display (d) flashes until the
temperature is reached. Higher temperature levels are reached in just a few seconds, a
reduction of temperature level takes effect more slowly.
Selectable temperature levels
You can select the individual temperature levels in 10°C increments between the
minimum temperature of 130°C and the maximum temperature of 230°C.
WARNING!
Risk of burning your hair if selected temperature is too high!
Depending on your hair type the wrongly selected temperature or improper use of the hair
straightener puts your hair at risk of drying out or in the worst case burning. Listed below are the
recommended temperature levels that should always be observed:
Always select the lowest temperature level (130°C) when using
yourhair straightener for the first time.
Select a low temperature level from 140°C till 160°C
for blonde, bleached or colored hair.
Select a medium temperature level from 170°C till
190°C for normal and slightly wavy hair.
Select a high temperature level from 200°C till 230°C
for very thick, curly and hard to straighten hair.
Straightening long hair

Hold the appliance at the handle (h), always at a safe distance from skin and eyes.
Use a mirror.
• Part your hair into approx. 4 cm strands.
• Hold the appliance in the hand as shown in fig. 5.
• Begin at the roots and lay the prepared strands one at a time between the straightening plates
(e) (see fig. 5).
• Close the appliance and draw the hair straightener slowly from the roots through to the tips of
your hair (see fig. 5). Repeat until your hair is as straight as you desire. After finishing styling,
let your hair cool down and then comb it through.
Straightening short hair
• Follow the instructions as for long hair, but instead of drawing the appliance through your hair,
clamp the strands in the appliance for approx. 10 seconds.
Switching off the appliance
Switch off the appliance using the ON/OFF switch (b).
