The sleek F-86 "Sabre" ranks with the famed
"Mustang" as a classicaircraft design.TheF-86
was the first swept wing fighter to serve with the
United States Air Force. The aerial supremacy of
the F-86 was proven in the war torn skies over
Korea. Skilled "Säbre" pilots downed numerous
MIG-15's in pitched high speeddogfights. By the
early 1950's,the F-86 was recognized as the free
world's most versatile single-seat fighter.
Countries throughout the world purchased
"Sabres" to replace aging World War II vitage
aircraft. North America found that it was neces-
sary to set up additional assembly lines to fulfill

• Use only cement for polystyrene plastic

Canadair assembled more than 1800 "Sabres"
of various marks. When production ended in
1958,Canadair's aircraft were flying in the colors
of eight different Air Forces. They saw service
with U.S. Air Force units, and formed the
backboneof the RoyalCanadianAir Forceand
West German
