Your new Bassman
200 amplifier delivers world-class
®
Fender® tone and world-standard Fender® quality: The
Bassman 200 moves air with a 15–inch woofer and produces
high frequency sparkle with a piezo horn. The LIMITER
provides a soft curb on the 200-watt output by smoothing,
peak-volume distortion into harmonic overtones. The
innovative ROOM BALANCE control quickly puts a
handle on poor room accoustics whether playing in a
carpeted, dull-sounding room or an empty garage with tiled
surfaces. The Bassman 200 is designed to sound great
with its five tone controls pointing straight up—but the
flexibility of semi-parametric equalization will be hard not
to engage! With the MID-FREQUENCY knob, select the
frequency range in which the MID-LEVEL knob boosts
or cuts signal.

A. INPUT - Input jack for electric bass guitars.
B. INPUT PASSIVE/ACTIVE - Switch OUT for most basses
(PASSIVE). Switch IN for basses with pre-amplifiers
(ACTIVE).
C. GAIN - Adjusts the pre-amplifier signal level. NOTE:
Use in conjunction with MASTER VOLUME {O} to
control the speaker volume level.
D. PRE-AMP CLIP LED - Indicates pre-amplifier clipping
(distortion). If undesirable distortion is heard when this
LED flashes, reduce GAIN level {C}.
E. PRE-AMP SIGNAL LED - Illuminates when a sufficient
signal level is present for proper operation of the Bassman
200. Adust GAIN {C} and your instrument's volume
control to keep this LED ON while playing.
F. ROOM BALANCE - Rotate clockwise for a treble EQ
shift to compensate for a room with dull acoustics
(carpeted or crowded room). Rotate counter-clockwise
for a bass EQ shift to compensate for rooms with hard
acoustics.(tiled or empty room).
G. ENHANCE - Press IN to modify the middle-frequency
contour to emphasize the high and low tones (useful for
slap-style and deep-toned bass playing). Switch OUT for
ENHANCE OFF (useful for finger-style bass playing).
H. BASS LEVEL - Adjusts the low-frequency level.
I. MID LEVEL - Adjusts the the middle-frequency level in the
frequency range selected by the MID FREQUENCY control {J}.
J. MID FREQUENCY - Selects a mid-frequency range in which
the MID LEVEL control {I} adjusts the level.

When increased sustain and a more controlled sound tone
is desired, the COMPRESSOR offers an ajustable
amount. when a thicker bass sound is called for, use the
ENHANCE switch to emphasize low and high tones.
The Bassman 200 also features a balanced XLR LINE-
OUT for its superior low noise ratio. Suitable for output
to recording equipment, the XLR LINE-OUT jack furnishes
EQUALIZATION bypass switching, an OUTPUT LEVEL
control and a GROUND LIFT switch. Plug an instrument
tuner into the back of the Bassman 200 and tune your
bass quickly and quietly between songs by using the MUTE
switch. Basses with active pre-amps are accommodated
with an ACTIVE/PASSIVE INPUT switch. Plug in effects
devices to the EFFECTS LOOP jacks on the rear panel
of the Bassman 200 for unlimited sonic options.

increased sustain. The compressor is OFF when turned
counter-clockwise to "0."
M. MUTE - Press IN to cut all output from the amp except for
the rear panel TUNER output jack. Useful for silent tune-
ups. Switch OUT for normal amplifier operation.
N. MUTE LED - Flashes when the MUTE switch {M} is IN

O. MASTER VOLUME - Adjusts the power-amplifier signal
level. NOTE: Use in conjunction with GAIN {C} to control
the speaker volume level.
P. PWR-AMP CLIP LED - Illuminates when there is clipping
(distortion) in the power-amplifier. Some flashing is normal,
but if undesirable distortion is heard, switch IN the LIMITER
{Q}, or reduce the MASTER VOLUME level {O}.
Q. LIMITER - Press IN to prevent excessive clipping
(distortion) in the power-amplifier.
R. POWER LED - Illuminates when the POWER SWITCH {S}
