Filter saturation check

The air exchange rate is based on the room size (air volume in the
room) and how frequently this air volume is filtered per unit of time.
The air exchange rate is set to 6 air changes in the factory default set-
tings and after a filter replacement (with the appropriate room size,
where the maximum room dimensions must not exceed the size equi-
valent to the nominal capacity). Due to the constant filtering of the
room air via the filter, the air exchange rate decreases over time. The
filtration efficiency of the filter is not reduced. A reduced air exchange
rate is identified in the air purifier via a differential pressure measure-
ment. If the air exchange rate drops below 4 air changes, this is sig-
nalled by the red LED lighting up and a warning message appearing.
Miele recommends checking the saturation of the filter regularly by
setting the fan setting to 100 % for at least 20 seconds in
mode
.
If the red LED lights up and the fault message
pears in the display when the fan setting is set to 100 %, the filter
is saturated.
In order to maintain the air exchange rate of 6 air changes when the
filter is saturated, the fan setting must be increased. The table below
shows how much the fan setting needs to be increased when the fil-
ter is saturated. The air purifier must be in
pose. The filter is expected to reach saturation after approx. 1–2 years
(depending on site conditions, individual particle ingress and regular
cleaning of the pre-filters). Miele therefore recommends regular main-
tenance by the Miele Customer Service Department.
