FITTING
Remove and disconnect rear light clusters (remove two visible torq screws and gently pull clusters rearward).

Remove bumper (4 torq screws along top edge of bumper, 2 self tapping screws on rear side of each wheel arch,
5 or 6 screws on underside of bumper, 2 plastic screws in light cluster area, both plastic door shut guides), gently
pull bumper tips outwards and upwards before gently pulling bumper rearward.
For the Grande Scenic only, ensure the most rearward seats are locked in their downward most position and

remove the 3 piece plastic covers located on the boot floor. (3 finger locks on the central cover and 4 screws on
each of the left and right plastic covers).
Remove bumper reinforcement beam (hand to customer) and rubber chassis rail blanking plates (to be reused),

and for the Scenic only, the spare wheel and jack/polystyrene assembly.
If necessary bend/remove the metal flap blocking access to the chassis rails and insert Sidearms (C and D) into

chassis rails as shown, loosely attach using Bolts (G). Note: Holes in chassis rails for Bolts (F and G) are covered
with tape and situated behind the layer of foam.

Loosely attach Towbar Mainframe (A) to Sidearms (C and D) using Bolts (E and F). For the Scenic only Note: On
left side, access for socket/extension bar for Bolts (F) is obtained by lifting up trim in boot (remove 4 torq screws
hidden under plastic caps), moving foam insulation and removing blanking plug on outer skin of rear wing. For the
Grande Scenic Only: On the left hand side access for socket/extension bar for Bolt (F) is obtained by removing
the air vent and blanking plug on the outer skin. Tighten All Bolts.

Important: Seal ends of chassis rails with tape and / or replace rubber chassis rail blanking plates (after
cutting relevant slots for Sidearms (C and D)) and / or sealant or expanding foam to prevent the ingress of
water. Bend bumper tags down while reattaching bumper. Note: Protect outer face of bumper from Towbar
Mainframe (A).
Replace all trim, plastic covers, bumper, reversing sensor connection, spare wheel, jack/polystyrene assembly,

and rear light clusters in reverse order to above. For the Grande Scenic Note: a small bumper cut is required as
illustrated below.

Notes:
This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z1) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball
dimensionally conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M8 - 27Nm, M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm

For fitting carry out the same procedure as per steps 3 to 7. 10. Replace all trim, plastic covers, bumper, reversing sensor connection, spare wheel, jack/polystyrene assembly, and rear light clusters in reverse order.

Pour le montage répéter les procédures 3 à 7. 2. Remonter toutes les garnitures, les protections plastiques, le pare-chocs, la roue de secours et le kit de dépannage, et les feux dans l’ordre inverse.
