PAT-mini aquarium filter, which you have purchased, is designed to filter water in the aquarium. It
can be used for various types ofaquarium filters, also for wet and dry or biological ones. Intensive
movement of water at the surface allows to oxygenate water efficiently. It can be used also in
smaller aquariums – as it is equipped with the output adjustment. Its small size, high output and
simple construction make it particularly useful, even for a beginning aquarium owner.
CONDITIONS FOR SAFE USE
The device you purchased was made in accordance
with the current safety standards of the European
Union. For its long-term and safe use, please read
the following safety conditions:
1. Important! Read carefully before use. Keep for
future use. Before installation and each start-up
of the device, carefully read this manual and in-
stallation instructions (Figure A).
2. The device is suitable for use only indoors and
only as intended (Figure B).
3. The device can be powered only from the mains
with the rated parameters (voltage and frequen-
cy) indicated on the device from a power outlet
located in a dry place.
4. Non-replaceable power cord cannot be replaced.
If the cable is damaged, the equipment becomes
unusable (Figure C).
5. Always disconnect the device from the pow-
er supply before mounting, dismantling or

cleaning. Always unplug all equipment in the
aquarium before putting your hand in the water
(Figure D).
6. This equipment may be used by children of at
least 3 years of age and by persons of diminished
physical and mental capabilities and persons
with inexperience and lack of familiarity with
the equipment, if supervision or instruction is
provided on the use of the equipment in a safe
manner and the associated risks are understood.
Cleaning and maintenance of equipment should
not be performed by children without supervi-
sion. Children should not play with the equip-
ment (Figure E).
7. NOTE: The power cord should be connected to
the mains in the manner presented in Figure F so
that a section of the cord hangs freely below the
plug. This is to prevent possible flooding of the
plug if water condenses on the connection cable.
INSTALLATION AND ADJUSTMENT. The filter should be placed in the aquarium so that it is
completely submerged in the water. The best effect of the filter will be obtained when it is
submerged about 3 cm below the water level. It should also be remembered that due to the
evaporation of water, its level constantly decreases. This effect should be taken into account
when choosing the installation height of the filter. The stand (5) with hanger (8) and suction
cups (6) allows you to quickly and easily hang the filter at any height. The PAT-Mini filter has the
ability to aerate the water in the aquarium. To do this, the tube (10) must be connected to the
aeration cap/capacity regulator (3) on one side and to the aeration regulator (7) on the other.
This will ensure effective aeration of the water in the aquarium. The setting of the position
of the aeration cap/flow regulator (3) in which the water is aerated is illustrated in
Figure 1a. In addition, the aeration cap/capacity regulator (3) allows convenient adjustment
of the water flow rate by turning the knob, which is an integral part of this element. This will
allow you to easily adjust the desired flow rate. The setting of the position of the aera-
tion cap/flow regulator (3) in which the maximumwater flow occurs is illustrated in
Figure 1b. The water flow can be freely directed by means of a flow guide (11), which can
be set in different directions. Water filtration is carried out by using a filter cartridge made of
sponge (9). The sponge (9) should be placed on the suction tube (12), ensuring that it fits snugly
to ensure effective filtration.
MAINTENANCE. The PAT-mini is driven by a water-resistant, synchronous motor that requires
very little maintenance. If you notice that the pump performance is low or does not start work-
ing when switched on: unplug the pump from the mains, remove it from the water and then
remove the cover (1). Remove the impeller (2), gently clean both the impeller (2) and the impel-
ler recess in the head (4). When cleaning is complete, reassemble all parts in reverse order. Make
sure the impeller (2) rotates freely without any obstruction. A common cause of a decrease in
filter efficiency is a contaminating sponge filter element (9). To clean it, disconnect the filter
from the mains, remove it from the aquarium, remove the sponge (9) from the suction tube
(12) and rinse it in the water drained during the change from the aquarium (this prevents the
destruction of the bacterial flora in the sponge and the reduction of biological filtration ef-
ficiency). The frequency of rinsing the cartridge depends on the degree of water contamination
and this operation should be performed with a significant decrease in pump efficiency.
DISASSEMBLY AND DISPOSAL. It is forbidden to dispose of used electric and
electrical equipment in a trash bin. Segregating and proper utilization of this
kind of waste leads to conserving the resources of natural environment. Waste
electrical and electronic equipment may contain hazardous substances. Proper
disposal of used equipment will avoid potential negative effects on the envi-
ronment and health. The user is responsible for delivering the used product to
a specialized collection point where it will be accepted free of charge. You can
obtain information about such a facility at the local authorities at the product
seller.
GUARANTEE CONDITIONS. The manufacturer grants a 24 month guarantee beginning on the
date of purchase. The guarantee covers defects arising from manufacturer fault i.e. defective
materials or assembly errors. It does not cover damage due to user's fault caused by improper
handling of the device or using the device for purposes discordant its destination. Attention:
any modification or disassembly attempt exceeding normal usage and maintenance cause the
guarantee void.
In case of noticing improper operation of the device send it with filled out warranty card to the
manufacturer or distributor address. The following warranty conditions do not exclude, limit
or suspend user's rights derived from discrepancy of the merchandise with the agreement. The
guarantee is limited to repair or replacement of the unit only and does not cover consequential
loss or damage to animate or inanimate objects.
