IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SAFETY:
- Check frequently the shutter/awning during installation and keep persons far
from shutters/awnings in movement;
- Do not use if any sign of wear or damage are shown or if any repairing or
maintenance is needed.
DESCRIPTION
The safety brake is a safety device for rolling shutters without springs performing
two functions:
A. a bearing support for the shutter shaft;
B. a mechanical brake to stop the descent of the shutter if sudden acceleration
occurs.
The safety brake, made up of antioxiding materials, consists of a central body
with a hole in which the rolling shutter shaft is inserted, and is supported by a
metal base. Between the central body and the base you find rubber bearings with
a density apt to compensate any eccentricity of the system. The GAPOSA safety
brake is equipped with a patented shock-absorber system and a micro-switch to
disconnect the electrical supply to the gear motor when the brake locks.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. P200/P200S safety brake locks in both directions and for this reason it can
indifferently be installed on the right or on the left side of the shaft;
2. P200/P200S safety brake must be installed in square and with the cable on the
side and pointing the top and in any case with a horizontal deviation not
exceeding ±3° (fig.1). A wrong horizontal or vertical alignment may vary the
locking speed and may cause a bad operation of the system
3. P200/P200S use n. 4 M8x16 fastening screws;
4. Weld the support pins of the shaft concentrically to it;
5. Insert the shaft support pin into the safety brake hole smoothly; eventually
check the alignment between the safety brake hole, on one side, and the output
shaft on the other side;
6. Avoid a snapping working of the shutter since it might cause the intervention of
the safety brake. A well-built side slide and good profiles assure a regular
working of the device;
7. [P200] Connect the safety brake electrical cable (complete with micro switch
and NC contact) to the STOP control in the motor control unit;
