How to Use the Remote Up/Down Control
Do not place the remote up/down control where it will interfere
with cooking, where hot pans could be set, or where hot liquids
could be spilled on the control.
Using the remote up/down control disables the functionality of the
up/down button on the downdraft chimney.
List of Materials
1x Up/Down Remote
1x 70" Extension Cable
2x (M3 x 30 Screws)
2x (M3 x 15 Screws)
2x Washers
WARNING
To reduce the risk of burns or ignition of clothing by
reaching across burners, the remote control must be
mounted at least 4" away from any cook top burner.
Installation Instructions
1.
Using the template on the right, lay out the 3-hole pattern on the countertop. Mark the centers of the three holes to be
drilled.
2. Carefully drill the three holes through the countertop. Be careful not to damage or chip the countertop surface when
drilling the holes.
3. Remove the up/down control from the plastic bag. Line the up/down control up with the three holes and position the
up/down control through where the two 1/4" holes were drilled.
4. Secure the up/down control by (2) screws with
washers onto the two threaded posts of the
controls.
NOTE: Choose the correct screws based off the
surface thickness.
5. On the downdraft, locate the electronics box
and remove the cover by (4) screws. Within
the electronics box is the control board with a
Y-adapter cable, one wire already connected
to the up/down button on the chimney top of
the downdraft and the other wire available for
connection (FIG. A).
6. Connect the 70" extension cable to the
Y-adapter cable and connect the extension
cable to the remote up/down control.
7.
If necessary, stuff excess cable out of the way
and secure the cable so it is not damaged by
items stored in the cabinet.
