Safety instructions

The safety instructions on the safety data sheet
must be observed for the substances stored
(e.g. optimum storage temperature of the
substance).
The CEMO pesticide cabinets may only be
used when in a proper working condition. In
case of doubt or if there is obvious damage,
rectify the faults or take the cabinet out of
service.
The CEMO pesticide cabinets are intended for
the storage of hazardous substances. There-
fore, care must be taken when operating the
cabinet. Uninstructed employees and unauthor-
ised persons are not allowed access.
Spilled hazardous substances must be removed
professionally without delay in order to protect
employees and the environment.
Storage of flammable liquids and solids is
prohibited.

Operating instructions

i

Important:

The pesticide cabinet must be used in
compliance with the instruction "Use in
accordance with StawaR".
5.1

Scope of application

1. The pesticide cabinets are made of a powder-
coated steel construction (RAL 6011). The tray
bottoms are positioned on the holders in the
environmental/HazMat cabinets as storage
levels and cover the entire area. All storage
levels are manufactured as galvanised trays.
The cabinet is used to store small containers.
Perforated plate inserts (see accessories) may
also be used as storage surfaces.
2. The pesticide cabinets with the trays may
only be set up indoors. Outdoor installation is
prohibited.
3. The collection trays may be used for the stor-
age of liquids with a flash point in excess of
55°C in small containers. The max. permissible
load is 50 kg per tray bottom (load-bearing
capacity).
4. The collection tray material must be resistant
to the substances to be stored and must not
form any hazardous compounds.
5.2

Labelling

The floor tray must be permanently marked by the
manufacturer with the name plate. This name plate
serves as proof of an approved product according
to the WHG. Therefore, it must not be removed or
damaged. In the event of loss or illegibility due to
damage, a replacement must be requested from
CEMO and affixed in the same place.
In addition, information labels for hazard identifica-
tion are enclosed. These must be attached to the
cabinet so that they are clearly visible.
5.3

Use

1. The doors must be kept closed at all times
and, if necessary, locked with the key to pre-
vent unauthorised access.
2. A floor tray must be able to hold the contents
of the largest container, but at least 10% of
the total contents of all liquids stored. If the
tray is used without a perforated plate insert,
the volume of the largest container may be
included in the collection volume up to the
permissible filling height of the collection tray.
If the pesticide cabinet is installed in a water
protection area, the floor tray must be able to
hold the total contents of the stored containers,
i.e. 100% of all liquids.
3. The operator is responsible for compliance
with the described maximum permissible stor-
age capacities or container size, taking into
account the collection volume marked on the
collection tray and the volume displacement in
the event that the tray is used without a perfo-
rated plate rack.
4. The required resistance shall be deemed to
have been demonstrated if the storage media
are included on the "BAM List, Requirements
for tanks for the carriage of dangerous goods"
(published by the Federal Institute for Materi-
als Research and Testing: Bundesanstalt für
Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM), Unter
den Eichen 87, 12205 Berlin).
5. Pesticide cabinets must not be used for sub-
stances or chemicals that undergo a chemical
reaction with zinc.
6. When storing liquids that fall within the scope
of the German Hazardous Substances Act,
TRGS (Technical Regulation for Hazard-
ous Substances) 510 must be complied with
among other regulations.
7. The containers must be stored in such a way
that the tray bottoms and the floor tray remain
visible at least in one place so that leaks can
