DEVICE OPERATION
Connecting the outlet hose
The water outlet is equipped with a thread to which a hose connector must be connected. You can use the connectors provided
with the pump or available separately. If a hose with the inside diameter smaller than the water outlet diameter is used, the pump
capacity will decrease. The connector included in the pump equipment has the possibility to connect hoses of diff erent diameters.
When connecting a hose with a diameter larger than the smallest diameter of the connector, cut off the smaller diameter part of
the connection so as not to restrict the fl ow of the pump. The connector is made of plastic, so the cut can be made with a sharp
knife. Be careful when cutting to avoid injury.
The hose connector must be screwed on without tools with suffi cient force to ensure a tight connection. Use of excessive force
can damage the gasket.
Starting and stopping the pump
The pump does not have a standard on/off switch. It is activated and stopped, depending on the model, by a fl oat on/off switch
or an adjustable on/off switch.
The fl oat on/off switch is connected to the pump by means of a short electric cord and contains a moving element inside which
closes and opens the electrical circuit. The switch fl oat is raised in the water, which causes the electrical circuit to close and the
pump to start. If the water drops to such a level that the fl oat of the switch is directed upwards by the cable connector, the pump
will be switched off .
Placing the cord connecting the fl oat switch with the pump in the handle on top of the pump housing (II) "shortens" the loose part
of the cord. This can be used to change the height of the water level, which will cause the pump to switch on and off . Leave the
cords between the handle and the switch long enough to allow the switch to change position freely. Too short a distance will not
allow the pump to be switched on or off .
MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
When the pump has fi nished working, disconnect it from the power supply and take it out of the water. Disconnect the hose
from the pump outlet and allow the water to fl ow out of the pump under gravity. During this operation, the pump must be tilted in
diff erent directions. After emptying the pump, dry it externally with a soft cloth or leave it to dry. If water with impurities has been
pumped, pump clean water until the dirt water ceases to escape from the pump. The external parts of the pump may be cleaned
by means of a clean water jet with a pressure of not more than 0.3 MPa. When cleaning the pump, be careful not to get the plug
of the power cord wet.
Transport the pump emptied and dried. Move by grasping the handle on top of the housing or by the housing. Never transport the
pump by pulling or hanging it by the power cord or the cord connecting the fl oat switch to the pump. Transport in packaging which
protects the pump from dust and dirt.
Store the pump emptied and dried. The water left in the pump can freeze and cause damage to the pump. Store the pump in
shaded areas which provide good ventilation and are protected against unauthorised use, especially by children.
