Mains Power, Battery Power and Power Cuts
Mains power charges a set of large internal batteries, These then
power the motor, which moves you up and down the stairs.
In the event of mains power failure, you can continue to use the
stairlift for a short while. The batteries will have stored enough
energy to take you up and down the stairs several times.
If the battery power runs low (for example, following a power
cut), a 'CRITICAL BATTERY' message will be shown on the status
display.
At this point, the stairlift batteries need to be recharged urgently.
Do not use the stairlift if the 'CRITICAL BATTERY' message is
reported in the status display other than to move DOWN to the
nearest available charging point.
Battery Replacement
The large internal batteries will need to be checked and
replaced periodically by your service engineer.
