Safety instructions for electric tube freezer
WARNING
WARNING
Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifi cations provided
with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in
electric shock, fi re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
● Do not use the electrical device if it is damaged. There is a danger of accident.
● Only connect the electrical device of protection class I to a socket/extension
lead with a functioning protective contact. There is a danger of electric shock.
● Wear gloves suitable against cold temperatures. There is a danger of injury
when touching cold deep-freezer heads.
● Allow deep-freezer heads to thaw out at the end of work. Do not use heat
sources, e.g. blow torches, hot water or similar to speed up the thawing
process. Frozen deep-freezer heads cannot be removed. There is a danger of
injury when touching cold deep-freezer heads. The electrical device can be
damaged if it is thawed too fast.
● Protect persons accompanying the work against frozen deep-freezer heads.
This reduces the risk of injury.
● Never bend, crush, twist or move the hoses under tensile stress. The hoses
will be damaged and refrigerant will leak.
● Never open up the refrigerant circuit. The apparatus contains the refrigerant
R-290
R-290 in a closed circuit. Should refrigerant leak out in the event of defective
R-290 in a closed circuit. Should refrigerant leak out in the event of defective
apparatus (e.g. breakage of a refrigerant hose, then the following must be taken
into consideration:
– After inhaling: Get the victim into the fresh air and into a stable resting position.
Use artifi cial respiration if breathing stops. Call a physician.
– After contact with the skin: Wash off the affected parts of the body with luke-
warm water for at least 15 minutes. Do not remove frozen clothing. Consult a
physician.
– After contact with the eyes: Protect the uninjured eye and wash out the
affected eye thoroughly with water. Remove any contact lenses if possible. Consult
a physician immediately.
– Notices for the physician / possible symptoms: Treat breathing diffi culties,
unconsciousness symptomatically, monitor the cardiovascular system.
● Please bear in mind that refrigerant escaping from the electrical device can
form an explosive gas mixture with air. Keep away naked fl ames and sources
of ignition. There is a risk of fi re and explosion.
● Observe the safety tips for refrigeration/deep-freezer devices. There is a
risk of injury.
● Dispose of the electrical device and the refrigerant properly. Observe the
national regulations.
● When installing the device, make sure that it has an adequate air supply.
Blocked ventilation grilles can lead to a reduction in performance and overheating
of the electrical device. There is a danger of fi re.
● Always stand the electrical device properly upright on the rubber feet even
during transport and storage. Improper installation, storage and transport can
impair the performance of the electrical device. The electrical device could be
damaged.
● Never let the electrical device operate unattended. Switch off the electrical
device during longer work breaks, pull out the mains plug and remove the
deep-freezer heads from the pipe. Electrical devices can cause hazards which
lead to material damage or injury when left unattended.
● Children and persons who, due to their physical, sensory or mental abilities
or lack of experience and knowledge are unable to operate the electrical
device safely may not use this electrical device without supervision or
instruction by a responsible person. Otherwise there is a risk of operating
errors and injuries.
● Only allow trained persons to use the electrical device. Apprentices may only
operate the electrical device when they are older than 16, when this is necessary
for their training and under the supervision of a trained operative.
● Check the power cable of the electrical device and the extension leads
regularly for damage. Have these renewed by qualifi ed experts or an authorised
ROLLER customer service workshop in case of damage.
● Only use approved and appropriately marked extension leads with a suffi -
cient cable cross-section. Use extension leads up to a length of 10 m with cable
cross-section 1.5 mm², from 10 – 30 m with cable cross-section 2.5 mm².

F-Zero, check whether voltage on the rating plate matches the mains voltage.
Only connect ROLLER'S Elektro-Freeze 2 F-Zero of protection class to a socket/
extension lead with a functioning protective contact. On building sites, in a wet
environment, indoors and outdoors or under similar installation conditions, only
operate the ROLLER'S Elektro-Freeze 2 F-Zero on the mains with a fault current
protection switch (FI switch) which interrupts the power supply as soon as the
leakage current to earth exceeds 30 mA for 200 ms. Only use sockets/extension
leads with a functioning protected earth contact.
2.2. Preparing the pipe
Deep freezing occurs by means of a transfer of refrigeration from the deep-
freezer heads to the outer surface of the tubing. To ensure good contact
transition, paint, rust or other pollutants should be removed from the tubing.
Deformed tubes cannot be frozen up.
The water (or other liquid) in the tubing can only freeze up if there is no fl ow,
i.e. pumps should be turned off, water removal should be avoided. Cool off
water in the heating tubes to ambient temperature before deep freezing.
