TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom
An error message appears on the screen.
Battery diagnosis fails to commence even when
the battery has been installed.
Nothing appears on the screen even when the
power button is held down.
If it is still not possible to check the battery even after the remedial actions described above have been taken, there
may be a problem with the Portable Battery Checker so please contact one of our authorized service centers.
MAINTENANCE
Regularly clean the terminal area of the Portable
Battery Checker. When cleaning this area, clean it
carefully and thoroughly using an air duster, etc.
NOTICE:
Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,
alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or
cracks may result.
To maintain product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs,
maintenance or adjustment should be performed by
Makita Authorized or Factory Service Centers, always
using Makita replacement parts.
There is no longer a balance in the voltages of the
blocks. The voltage of block 1 in particular has dropped.

It is likely that the repetition of overloading work has
damaged the cell, causing it to malfunction.
When E01 appears:
There is a malfunction in the circuitry of the Portable Battery Checker. Please
contact one of our authorized service centers.
When E02 appears:
Continued use has caused the circuitry of the Portable Battery Checker to reach
a high temperature. Wait a while for the circuitry to cool down, and then resume
use.
When E03 appears:
There is a malfunction in the circuitry of the Portable Battery Checker. Please
contact one of our authorized service centers.
- A problem with the terminal connections may be to blame. Remove the battery,
clean off any dirt or other foreign matter on the terminals, and re-install the
battery properly.
- Check that the battery is an applicable battery.
- Check whether the dry cells have been installed correctly.
- Replace the dry cells with new ones.
