General
The chemical seal-measuring systems consisting of the instrument, the seal and possibly a
Capillary form a hermetically connected measuring arrangement filled with dried and degassed
liquid.
An eventual difference in height between pressure gauge and chemical seal with capillary
extension generates a liquid column. Please specify this difference when ordering to adapt the
liquid column during manufacture. When installing the chemical seal system, please refer to the
instruction manual for the measuring system used.
Mounting
The chemical seal system forms a hermetically closed unit and must not be separated upon in-
stallation. The sealed filling plug of the chemical seal system must not be opened.
Material thickness of the chemical seal diaphragm is of < 0,1 mm. It must not be deformed,
otherwise measuring inaccuracies are being generated.
To prevent errors of measurement, it is important that the diaphragm of the chemical seal system
can operate unimpededly and is not being influenced by sealing washers.
In case of soft sealings without mechanical limitations of the sealing, the torque and the sequence
are to be observed. The capillary must not be distorted axially. The mounting radius of the capillary
must not be inferior to 100 mm.
Maintenance
The chemical seal systems are maintenancefree. Possible deposits on the diaphragm can be
removed by means of a soft brush and an appropriate solvent. Pay attention not to deform the
diaphragm.
Storage
To avoid damages, the chemical seal measuring system is stored in its original packing.
Storing temperature -40 to +70°C.
