PowerLink 4
INTENDED PURPOSE
The PowerLink 4 is intended to provide switch access to/control of electrical
appliances with basic on-off functionality. This product allows any one or two
switches to turn an electrical appliance on or off for various durations. The
Powerlink 4 can be used in the home or clinical setting. The Powerlink 4 is designed
to be setup for client use by caregiver or layperson.
CLINICAL BENEFITS OF THE DEVICE
Intended to assist a client that has significant to full damage to the movement-related
functions of the upper extremities such as:
Incomplete/complete paralysis of the arms (paraparesis/plegia), possibly also
of the legs (tetraparesis/plegia), as a result of:
disease of the brain (e.g. multiple sclerosis, hemorrhage, tumor)
disease of the spinal cord (e.g. paraplegic syndrome in traumatic/
inflammatory/tumourous cervical cord lesion)
disease of the peripheral nerves/muscle diseases (e.g. Guillain-Barré
syndrome, muscular dystrophies)
