El indicador de secuencia de fases y de rotación de motores es un instrumento portátil y
alimentado a pilas diseñado para detectar el campo rotativo de sistemas trifásicos determinar
el sentido de giro de motores.
INFORMACIÓN DE SEGURIDAD
• Lea atentamente la siguiente información de seguridad antes de utilizar o reparar el
instrumento.
• Siga los códigos nacionales y locales de seguridad.
• Se deben utilizar equipos de protección individual para evitar descargas eléctricas y
lesiones.
• Si no utiliza el instrumento de la manera especificada por el fabricante, la protección
proporcionada por el mismo se puede ver afectada.
• Evite trabajar sólo.
• Inspecciones los cables de prueba para comprobar si el aislamiento está dañado o los
hilos metálicos expuestos. Compruebe la continuidad de los cables de prueba. No utilice el
instrumento si parece dañado.
• Sea cuidadoso al trabajar con tensiones superiores a 30V ac rms, picos de 42V ac o 60 Vdc.
Esas tensiones representan un riesgo de descarga eléctrica.
• Al usar los cables de prueba, mantenga los dedos detrás de las barreras de seguridad de
las puntas.
• Las mediciones se puede ver adversamente afectadas por impedancias de circuitos de
funcionamiento adicionales o por corrientes transitorias.
• Verifica el funcionamiento en una fuente conocida antes de realizar comprobaciones con
tensiones peligrosas (tensiones superiores a 30V ac rms, picos de 42V ac y 60V dc).
• No utilice el equipo si se ha desmontado alguno de sus componentes.
• No use el equipo en los alrededores de polvo, vapor o gas explosivo.
• Desconecte los cables de prueba de las fuentes de alimentación antes de sustituir las pilas.
• No utilice el instrumento en ambientes húmedos.
MANTENIMIENTO
Para evitar dañar el instrumento, no intente realizar tareas de mantenimiento o reparación
del equipo si no está cualificado.
LIMPIEZA
Limpie periódicamente la carcasa con un trapo húmedo y detergente suave. Limpie solo con
jabón y agua y retire cualquier resto a continuación.
Para evitar dañar el instrumento, no use abrasivos o disolventes. Los abrasivos y disolventes
dañaran la carcasa del instrumento.
SUSTITUCIÓN DE LA PILA
Advertencia
Para evitar descargas eléctricas, desconecte los cables de prueba del circuito medido
antes de abrir la tapa del instrumento para sustituir la pila.
El instrumento utiliza una pila de 9V (suministrada). Para sustituir la pila, siga las siguientes
instrucciones:
• Desconecte los cables de prueba de cualquier fuente de alimentación.
• Coloque el instrumento boca abajo en una superficie no abrasiva y afloje el tornillo de la
tapa de la pila con un destornillador.
• Retire la tapa de acceso a la pila del instrumento.
• Sustituya la pila. Tenga en cuenta la polaridad de la pila indicada en el compartimento.
• Fije la tapa de la pila en su posición original con el tornillo.
Nota:
El instrumento contiene pilas alcalinas. No elimine esas pilas junto con otros residuos sólidos.
Las pilas usadas deben ser eliminadas por un reciclador cualificado o un manipulador de
material peligroso.

Motor and Phase Rotation Indicator is a handheld, battery-operated instrument designed to
detect the rotary field of three-phase systems and determine motor-rotation direction.
SAFETY INFORMATION
• Read the following safety information carefully before using or servicing the instrument.
• Adhere to local and national safety codes.
• Individual protective equipment must be used to prevent shock and injury
• Use of instrument in a manner not specified by the manufacturer may impair safety features/
protection provided by the equipment.
• Avoid working alone.
• Inspect the test leads for damaged insulation or exposed metal. Check test lead continuity.
Do not use the apparatus if it looks damaged.
• Be careful when working above 30 V ac rms, 42 V Symbols ac peak and 60 V dc. Such
voltages pose a shock hazard.
• When using the probes, keep fingers away from probe contacts. Keep fingers behind the
finger guards on the probes.
• Measurements can be adversely affected by impedances of additional operating circuits
connected in parallel or by transient currents.
• Verify operation on a known source prior to measuring hazardous voltages (voltages above
30 V ac rms, 42 V ac peak and 60 V dc).
• Do not use the apparatus with any of the parts removed.
• Do not use the apparatus around explosive gas, vapor, or dust.
• Disconnect the test leads from power sources before changing the battery.
• Do not use the apparatus in a wet environment.
MAINTENANCE
To avoid damaging the apparatus, do not attempt to repair or service the apparatus unless
qualified to do so.
CLEANING
Periodically wipe the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Clean only with soap and
water and remove any residue afterwards.
To avoid damaging the apparatus, do not use abrasives or solvents. Abrasives or solvents
will damage the apparatus case.
REPLACING BATTERY
To avoid electric shock, disconnect the test leads from the source before opening the
apparatus for battery replacement.
The apparatus uses a 9 V battery (supplied). To replace the battery, follow these steps:
• Disconnect test leads from any power source.
• Place the apparatus face down on a nonabrasive surface and loosen the battery-door screw
with a screwdriver.
• Lift the battery access lid away from the apparatus.
• Replace the battery. Observe the battery polarity shown in the battery compartment.
• Secure the battery access lid back in position with the screw.
Note:
The apparatus contains alkaline batteries. Do not dispose of these batteries with other solid
waste. Used batteries should be disposed of by a qualified recycler or hazardous materials
handler.
