h. Plug the power tool into the socket on the appliance (Fig. 12) and unwind the cable and
plug the appliance into the mains. (Fig. 5)
i. Switch the appliance on to position "II". (Fig. 13)
j. When the power tool is switched on the vacuum will switch on automatically.
k. When the power tool is switched off there is a short delay before the appliance switches
off. This delay allows remaining dust to be cleared from the power tool and hose.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning is essential for the safe operation of the appliance. Ensure the
pre-filter is clear of excess dust before each use.
Care must be taken not to inhale dust while emptying and cleaning the appliance.
The pre-filter is a consumable item and should be replaced if it becomes damaged or worn.
a. Unplug from mains supply. (Fig. 5)
b. Unclip the dust-collection bin retaining clips and lift off the motor unit. (Fig. 15, 16)
c. Safely dispose of the contents of the dust-collection bin.
d. Remove the pre-filter and gently beat the dust from it. This item can be hand washed in
water if excessively soiled. Ensure it is properly dried before re-fitting.
e. Unclip the HEPA filter and clean by blowing or brushing. Ensure that it is clear of dust
internally before re-fitting. (Fig. 17, 18)
f. Brush out the dust tank and brush the underside of the motor housing before re-assembly.
6. Troubleshooting
Warning; If a problem occurs switch off and unplug the appliance immediately.
Motor does not start:
Try connecting to a socket that is known to work.
Ensure switch is set to the correct position.
If temperature cutout has operated, wait 20 minutes for it to reset.
Motor switches on but power is reduced, or motor is excessively noisy:
Follow the procedure in section 5 for emptying and cleaning.
Ensure none of the hoses or accessories are blocked.
7. Maintenance
The appliance is oiled for life.
Except for cleaning the filters, there are no user serviceable parts inside.
If the replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has to be done by the manufacturer
or his service agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
