WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
FOR: S8000, S8002 & 80/973
Used with Commercial Downlight Models:
S11850, S11851, S11852, S11853
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT: Read before installing fixture. Retain for future reference.
WARNING
DANGER: Risk of fire or electric shock.
• This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code by a person familiar with the
construction and operation of the product and the hazards involved.
• TURN OFF the electrical power before proceeding.
• To prevent high voltage from being present on the black and white output leads prior to installation, the unit connector
leads must be disconnected, do not mate the unit connector leads until the installation is complete and the AC power is
supplied to the Emergency Driver.
WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: Install the S8000, and S8002 to the LED metal enclosure (80/973) and secure with the included machine screws.
STEP 2: Connect the black wire leading from the Emergency Driver to the unswitched line (L).
STEP 3: Connect the black/white wire leading from the Emergency Driver to the switched circuit (this is the (switched line if
available) if the installation does not have a switched circuit, then the black/white and black will get connected to the main
circuit line (L).
STEP 4: The white wire leading from the Emergency Driver gets connected to the main AC (N L1)
STEP 5: Connect the green grounding wire leading from the 80/973 to the main ground at the main circuit.
STEP 6: Connect the red wire leading from the Emergency Driver and the white wire leading from the downlight to the
main AC (N L1).
STEP 7: Connect the blue wire leading from the Emergency Driver to the black wire leading from the downlight.
STEP 8: Connected the brown and purple leads from the Emergency Driver to the test switch. (If mounting the test switch
remotely a wall plate is required (80/987).
STEP 9: To complete the installation, mate the unit connector leads (white male and female).
STEP 10: Restore power at the circuit panel and the installation is complete.
