ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS
2- General safety instructions
SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR LI-ION BATTERIES
IMPORTANT
Please observe the following operating restrictions and maintain the safety feature of the
equipment to prevent malfunction. Please also observe the "Do Not Handle" section of the
equipment's user manual.
Failure to comply with the following recommendations will result in smoke, rupture or fire.
1. Disassembly and reassembly.
"Do not disassemble or reassemble the battery.
The battery has a safety function and a protective circuit to prevent danger. If these devices are
severely damaged, it may cause combustion, smoke, rupture or fire.
2. Short-circuit.
"Do not short-circuit the battery.
Do not connect the + and - terminals to metals (such as wire). Do not carry or store the battery
with metal objects (such as wire, chains, necklaces, or hairpins). This will short-circuit the battery.
3. Use near a heat source.
"Do not use or leave the battery near a fire, stove or heat source (over 80°C).
This will cause the polymer separator to melt. Also, do not use the battery under a heat source
(over 80°C) for the same reason.
4. Immersion.
"Do not immerse the battery in water or seawater, or get it wet.
5. Charging near a heat source.
"Do not charge the battery near a heat source or in direct sunlight.
If the protection circuit is operated under high heat or damaged, the battery is charged with
abnormal current (or voltage) and it causes abnormal chemical reaction.
6. Heat and charging conditions.
"Use the specified charger and observe the charging conditions.
If the battery is charged under unspecified conditions (high temperature, higher than the
specified temperature, higher than the recommended voltage or current, or with a modified
charger), it may in some cases overcharge the battery or cause an abnormal chemical reaction
in the cells.
7. Perforation
"Do not drive a nail into the battery, hit it with a hammer or step on it. This could damage or
deform the battery and cause it to short circuit.
8.Shock.
"Do not knock the battery or throw it away.
Any shock, impact or heavy drop to the battery may cause it to malfunction.
If the protective circuit in the battery is damaged, the battery will be charged with abnormal
current or voltage and abnormal chemical reaction will occur.
9. Deformation
"Do not use a battery with visible damage or deformation.
10. Soldering.
"Do not weld directly to the battery.
11. Reverse charging and excessive discharge.
"Do not reverse charge or excessively discharge the battery".
If the battery is reverse charged, an abnormal chemical reaction will occur. In some cases, an
unusual high current flows during discharge.
