Preparing the video camera recorder

The DCR-TRV10 is the model used for illustration purposes.
For details, please refer to the operating instructions supplied with your video camera
recorder.
(1) Remove the lens cap, shoulder strap, conversion lens or filter from the video
camera recorder. Remove the lens hood if your video camera recorder has
one.
(2) Attach a charged battery pack.
(3) Insert a cassette tape.

Attaching the pedestal to the tripod (not supplied)

Attach the tripod (not supplied) to the tripod attachment holes of the pedestal.

About the tripod attachment
• The weight of the video camera recorder and the battery pack differs according to
what you use. Choose one of the holes that gives the better balance.
• Optional large-size Sony tripods are recommended.
• Spread the legs of the tripod and lock them when attaching.
