character chain in the data flow is accidentally assimilated to a request for entry into the command mode.
Note5 : registers S217 and S218 are used to synchronise transmission start:
either a timeout (S217)
or a quantity of data in the buffer memory (S218)
The first of these two limits reached triggers transmission start.
When the number of octets in the buffer memory reaches the threshold of register S218 before the timeout of register S217, it is triggering on
data. On the other hand, when the timeout of register S217 expires before the data in the buffer memory reach the threshold of register S218, it

is triggering on time.
It should be noted that programming register S217 to 0 (no timeout) means that the S218 register threshold must be reached to start transmis-
sion.

Note6: RF loopback on MW detection: in this mode the modem serial reception timing should be slightly different than the mode nominal
modem mode (i.e. without loopback); The serialization of data should be delayed (up to 8 RF bytes, RF=9,6kbps delay up to 8 ms).
If the application protocol is unknown or if the timings are crucial, use "Loopback mode only" for installation and leave this mode when instal-
lation is done.
Note7: RF loopback mode only: In this mode the "remote" modem never sends received RF data on serial link. This mode can be leaved if a
specific RF data stream (= "LEAVERFLOOPBACK") is received.
On this specific stream reception, the "remote modem":
1. Acknowledge the "command" sending "ACKLEAVED" (via RF)
2. Switch S257 to 0 and save It,
3. Restart
The modem is back to its nominal mode, with the loopback feature OFF.
Advise: for a remote modem configure in "RF loopback only", if the installation test is not performed, the master equipment must send at least
one time the specific RF data stream, in order to be sure that the remote modem is back to its operational state (loopback OFF).
