NSTRUMENT OPERATION - Where applicable, connect a probe via the socket
located at the top of the instrument. Switch the instrument on and apply the tip
of the probe to the substance or medium to be measured. The instrument reading
may take a few seconds to stabilise, depending on the nature of the measurement
and sensitivity of the probe.
HOLD - Press the HOLD button to freeze the display, press again to continue
measuring.
AUTO-OFF - The unit will switch off automatically after 10 minutes. To disable auto-
off press the HOLD button whilst switching on the instrument (this is reset when
the instrument is switched off).
OPEN CIRCUIT/FAULTY PROBE - If the probe has developed an 'Open Circuit' fault
the instrument will display 'Err'.
SENSORS - This instrument should only be used with type K (Nickel Chromium/
Nickel Aluminium) thermocouple probes (BS EN 60584-1:2013) fitted with miniature
type K thermocouple plugs, where applicable (to BS EN 50212).
BATTERY REPLACEMENT - The instrument will display 'LO BAT' to warn that the
batteries will need changing soon. The instrument continues to measure accurately
but after further usage the instrument will display 'flat bat' and shutdown. Replace
the batteries with three AAA batteries located under the rear cover that is held in
place by a single screw.
THERMA ELITE ONLY
MAX/MIN - Press the MAX/MIN button to display the values. The instrument retains
the max/min values when switched off. To reset, press the
MAX/MIN button for three seconds, 'rst' will be displayed.
0.1/1 °C/°F RESOLUTION - The Therma Elite can be switched between 0.1 °C/F or 1
°C/F by pressing the MODE button.
°C/°F - The instrument can be switched between °C and °F by pressing the MODE
button for three seconds.
BACKLIGHT - Press the HOLD button for two seconds.
Please Note: the backlight will not operate if 'LO BAT' is being displayed.
(Therma Elite only).
TRIM - Press the MAX/MIN and ON/OFF buttons at start up for five seconds to enter
(Offset is displayed). MAX/MIN then cycles (continuous loop) the trim value in 0.1
steps up to ±2.0 ºC (3.6 ºF). Press ON/OFF to save the value and exit Trim mode.
WARNING: IPA and other solvents may cause damage to the case and screen of this
instrument.
FR - UTILISATION DE L'INSTRUMENT - Si besoin est, connectez une sonde par
l'intermédiaire de la douille située en haut de l'instrument. Allumez l'instrument
et appliquez la pointe de la sonde à la substance ou au milieu à mesurer. La
stabilisation de l'indication de l'instrument peut prendre quelques secondes, en
fonction de la nature de la mesure et de la sensibilité de la sonde.
HOLD - Maintenez le bouton HOLD enfoncé pour geler l'affichage.
EXTINCTION AUTOMATIQUE - L'instrument s'éteindra automatiquement après 10
minutes. Pour désactiver l'extinction automatique, enfoncez le bouton HOLD tout
en allumant l'instrument (la réactivation a lieu lorsque l'on éteint l'instrument).
CIRCUIT OUVERT/SONDE DEFECTUEUSE - Si la sonde a développé un défaut
'Circuit Ouvert', l'instrument affichera 'Err'.
CAPTEURS - Cet appareil ne doit être utilisé qu'avec des sondes à thermocouple
(nickel-chrome/nickel aluminium) de modèle K (conformément à la norme BS EN
60584-1:2013) dotées de prises miniatures à thermocouple de type K, le cas échéant
(conformément à la norme BS EN 50212).
