5.2 Setting the software parameters
•
Drag the sensor icon to the y- axis.
•
Drag the "réveil" (alarm) icon to the x-axis and then set the time
parameters: 15 seconds and 990 points.
5.3 Acquisition
•
Inflate the armband to 200 mmHg and place the earphones of the
stethoscope in your ears.
•
Start the acquisition by clicking on the green light.
•
Gradually deflate the armband until almost complete deflation is
attained after 15 seconds of acquisition.
Do not move your arm with the armband attached while it is being deflated.
5.4 Results obtained
You will obtain a curve indicating the pulse rhythm in the artery in your arm;
the heart rate (cardiac frequency) determined in this manner is 70 cpm.
The same experiment can be performed with VTT in the self-powered mode
(not connected to the computer) with the recording software. In this case you
can record the systolic and diastolic pressure on the graph with the aid of the
"Ins" key on the VTT console.
