• Maintain the power tool. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, leakage and any other issue that may affect the power tool's
operation. If damaged, please have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents and injuries are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
• Keep the cutting parts of the power tool sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are more
precise and easier to control.
• Always use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with the instructions of this instruction manual, taking into account the working
conditions and the work that is to be performed. Use of the power tool for applications different from those intended could result in personal injury or cause
damage to the power tool.
• Keep the handles and any grasping surfaces of the power tool dry, clean and free of oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for
safe handling of the tool in unexpected circumstances.
Service
• Have the power tool serviced by qualified service personnel, using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is
maintained.
• If the power cord is damaged, do not use the power tool. The cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons.
• If the carbon brushes need to be replaced, have this done by a qualified person. Keep in mind that carbon brushes must always be replaced in pairs.
• Switch off the power tool and disconnect it from the power supply if it is believed to be damaged. Afterwards, assign the power tool's repair to a qualified
service professional.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS SPECIFICALLY FOR ELECTRIC HEDGE TRIMMERS
• Keep all parts of your body away from the cutter blade. Do not remove cut material or hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure the switch
is off when clearing jammed material. A moment of inattention while operating the hedge trimmer may result in serious personal injury.
• Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle and only when it is turned off.
• When transporting or storing the hedge trimmer always fit the cutting device cover.
• Proper handling of the hedge trimmer will reduce the possibility of sustaining an injury from the cutter blades.
• DANGER – Keep hands away from the blade. Contact with the blade will result in serious personal injury.
• Use both hands when operating the hedge trimmer. Using one hand could cause loss of control and result in serious personal injury.
• Keep the cable away from the cutting area. During operation the cable may become hidden in shrubs and can be accidentally cut by the blade.
• Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only to protect yourself in case the cutter blade contacts hidden wiring. Cutter blades contacting a "live"
wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock.
• Do not overreach and keep your balance at all times. Walk when operating the power tool, never run.
• Only touch the moving parts if the power tool is disconnected from the power supply and once the moving parts have come to a complete stop.
• Always wear eye and hearing protection. Wear a protective mask if necessary. Dress properly, do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that could get caught
in the moving parts of the unit. Safety non-skid footwear should always be worn. Long hair should be tied back.
• Do not use the power tool outdoors in rainy conditions especially when there is a risk of lightning.
• Make sure that the work area is free of rocks, wires, debris and other hard objects. If an object cannot be removed, mark its location so that you can avoid
touching it with the blade. Objects such as wires and cords can become entangled in the cutting blade and cause injury.
• Hold the hedge trimmer properly with both hands.
