FITTING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR "GIESSE" AP100 SERIES EMERGENCY OPENERS
A copy of the Declaration of Performance (DoP) of the product is available on GIESSE website (www.giesse.it).
IMPORTANT!: The technical characteristics of this product are of fundamental importance for personal safety.
It is strictly forbidden to make any modifications to this product other than those described in these instructions.
Use of these emergency openers is restricted, referring to the rule EN1125:2008, to applications satisfying the following
conditions:

The above limits are derived from EN1125 standard. If the door exceeds any of these limits, the emergency opener no longer
comply with the requirements of the aforementioned standard and cannot therefore be certified as conforming to the
necessary directive.
For doors with height superior than 2500 mm and up to 3400 mm, and width superior than 1300 mm and up to 1500 mm, even if
not contemplated in the rule application field, GIESSE guarantees the product correct functionality.
This product is ambidextrous and can be fitted on left or right hand doors.
The figures provided in these instructions illustrate an emergency opener configured for doors with hinges on the right viewed
from the inside.
The effective length of the operating bar, "X", must be as near as possible equal to the effective width of the door, "Y", on which
the emergency opener is to be installed, and must never be less than 60% of effective door width. Distance "Z" must likewise
never exceed 150 mm.
This emergency opener is not suitable for fitting to double acting (swing) doors that have no rabbet and can therefore open
either way.

EN 1125:2008
1 – Emergency openers manufactured in conformity to EN1125 provide a high degree of personal security as well as
reasonable security for property, provided they are installed in doors and frames that are in good condition. Check first that the
door is properly installed and that there are no obstacles to it opening and shutting freely.
2 – Check carefully that the seals fitted to the finished door will not prevent the emergency opener from functioning correctly.
3 – Before fitting an emergency opener to a fire or smoke door, make sure that the product is indeed suitable for use with fire or
smoke doors.
4 – If two emergency openers are to be fitted to double doors with rabbet frames, it is important to check that each door opens
freely when its emergency opener is operated, and that both doors open freely when both emergency openers are operated
simultaneously.
5 – Follow the assembly instructions scrupulously throughout the installation process. The assembly and
installation instructions must be handed over to the user on completion of the installation.

voice Certifications and Quality.
The Declaration of Confirmity in comply with the standard EN 1125:2008 is available requsting
it directly to the After Sales Giesse Service (800 - 017-833).
