Cut and remove a small section of the jacket at desired
location of cable sheath end.

Carefully cut through the raised helix using a fine-tooth
hacksaw (24T). Be careful not to cut into the cable
insulation.
Entailler avec soin la spirale saillante à l'aide d'une scie à
métaux à denture fine (24T). Prendre soin de ne pas
entailler l'isolant du câble.

If the cable has a PVC jacket, cut the jacket back to the
length of the connector barrel. See table for strip length.
Si le câble a un revêtement en PVC, tailler le revêtement
sur une longueur égale au barillet du connecteur.

Slip the body over the cable. Carefully thread the connector
onto the sheath and turn by hand until the end of the
sheath binds against the internal shoulder. Tighten by hand
only.
Glisser le barillet sur le câble. Bien enfiler le connecteur sur
la gaine et le tourner à la main jusqu'à ce que l'extrémité de
la gaine repose sur l'épaulement interne. Ne visser qu'à la
main.

Pencil indicates relative location to cut the sheath. Score line with
knife "squarely" around cable where the sheath is to be cut.
Le crayon indique l'emplacement approprié où il faut couper la
gaine. Avec un couteau, marquer "d'équerre" une ligne autour du
câble, à l'endroit où il faudra tailler la gaine.
Crack scored sheath by gently bending back and forth. Remove
any burrs with knife edge. Pull off the sheath, slightly rotating in
direction of conductor lay.
Fendre la gaine là où elle a été marquée en la pliant et la repliant
délicatement. Enlever les ébarbures et lisser la surface avec la
lame d'un couteau. Retirer la gaine en la faisant tourner dans la
direction du pas tu conducteur.
Type "D" connector has a "one unit" body with internal threading
matched to the profile of the sheath.
Le connecteur du type "D" est fait d'une seule pièce et son filetage
interne correspond au profil de la gaine.
