6. Care, Maintenance, Transport, Conversion

6.1 Care / re-use

The ARTROMOT®-SP3 is suitable for re-use
if the following points are observed.

Shock hazard –
Unplug the device from the power line
before cleaning.
Shock hazard, equipment damage –
Liquids must not enter the device or the
control pendant.
– The ARTROMOT®-SP3 must be disin-
fected by wiping down with a disinfec-
tant. Thus, it complies with the special
hygiene standards for medical technical
equipment.
– The enclosure and removable leg sup-
port assemblies can be cleaned with
commonly used disinfectants and mild
household detergents.
– Use only a damp cloth to wipe the CPM
device down.

Patient hazard –
Patient contamination
– Before using the device on another
patient, be sure to clean and disinfect
it according to the instructions given
here.
Note!
The manufacturer recommends using
only special disinfectants approved for
medical devices and with the character-
istics specified below under "Caution".
Disinfection with the following disin-
fectants and in compliance with the
instructions for use has been evaluated
and approved by the manufacturer in
the risk assessment:
– DESCOSEPT AF lemon

Contact time: 2 minutes minimum
Caution!

Equipment damage –
– The plastic material used is not
resistant to mineral acids, formic acid,
phenols, cresols, oxidants and strong
organic or inorganic acids with a pH
value below 4.
– Use only clear disinfectants to pre-
vent discoloration of the material.
– Do not expose the CPM device to
strong ultraviolet radiation (sunlight)
or fire.
