5.3 Selection of a suitable trolley

WARNING
There is a risk of crushing when using
tandem trolleys with the load to be lifted.
Always wear your personal protective
equipment; see page 5. Make sure you
handle the devices properly.
To select the suitable trolley, the total weight of the
load and the position of the centre of gravity must be
determined; see page 16.
Ideally, the centre of gravity will be symmetrical and
centred in the load. In this case, the selection can be
done using the following formula:
Minimum trolley load = (load to be moved in kg) x
(safety factor 1.25)
