GUIDELINES FOR OPERATION
● Always hold the power tool perpendicular to metal sheet surface, do not tilt the power tool sideways
(fig. D).
● Cutting is made when punch moves down.
● Guide the power tool at a uniform rate, pushing it slightly in direction of the cut. Too fast advance
reduces punch and die durability and may cause power tool damage.
● Power tool works more efficiently when slightly lifted when making a cut.
● In case of punch jam switch off the power tool immediately, lubricate the punch and release metal
sheet. Do not apply force – doing so may cause damage to the punch or the die.
● Wear protective gloves when working, pay attention to power cord. Metal sheet cutting forms
sharp burrs, they can cut operator or damage the power cord.
● Be very careful when there are filings. Sharp edges of filings may cut power tool operator.
PUNCH LUBRICATION AND COOLING
● To make the punch (5) service life longer, use lubricators with good cooling properties (e.g. oil for cutting).
● Cover outer sheet surface with oil along planned cutting line. When working for a long time or cutting
materials where high wear is present (e.g. aluminium) immerse the working tool (punch and die) in
lubricator on a regular basis.
CUTTING ALONG A TEMPLATE OUTLINE
● Cutting along a straight line is easier to make when guiding the power tool along a straight edge (fig. E).
● When cutting an outline, guide the power tool along the template (fig. F).
● Before making a cutout it is necessary to make a hole with minimum diameter 22 mm (fig. G).
Unplug the power cord from the mains socket before commencing any activities related to
installation, adjustment, repair or maintenance.
● Do not use water or any other liquid for cleaning the nibbler.
● Clean the nibbler with a brush.
● Clean ventilation holes regularly to prevent motor overheating.
● Clean and lubricate punch and die every three working hours.
● When punch and die are worn out, replace with new ones. Only sharp working tools ensure good
quality of cut and prevent power tool damage.
Do not sharpen punch and die, always replace them with new parts. Always replace both cutting
parts at a time.
DIE REPLACEMENT
● Unscrew the die fixing screws (7) (fig. H).
● Remove the die (7). If necessary clean the die socket in the die holder (4).
● Place new, lubricated die (7) in the socket of die holder (4). Make sure the flattened side of die faces the
appropriate direction.
● Tighten the die fixing screws (7).
PUNCH REPLACEMENT
● Unscrew die holder fixing nut (3) and remove die holder (4) completely.
● Loosen the punch (5) fixing screw (fig. I).
● Slide new lubricated punch (5) into mounting and tighten the fixing screw. Make sure the fixing screw
seats exactly in the punch (5) shaft (fig. J).
● Rotate the punch (5) for positioning, so that after die holder (4) installation punch position is fully
matched to the die (6) (fig. K).
● After the die holder (4) has been properly positioned (die holder must be fully inserted and matched
with one of four protrusions) tighten the die holder fixing nut (3).
