Operating Instructions LG 1480 Battery Charger
Charging the Battery:
Place the battery into any free slot.
The device recognises the battery type (Li-Ion or NiMH) and switches to the required charging procedure.
The device detects if the battery needs a test cycle (conditioning).
A test cycle is indicated when the Test-LED flashes in yellow.
Press the
If no test cycle is needed, the battery is charged in standard mode. The Charge-LED flashes in yellow as long
as charging is in progress.
As soon as the Charge-LED has turned green (and the Test-LED is off), the battery is fully charged, and ready
to use.
Remove the fully charged battery from the charger.
Test Cycle (Conditioning):
If a test cycle is initiated manually or automatically, the Test-LED flashes in yellow until discharging is complete
(see Step 3). The test consists of four steps:
Step 1: The first battery discharge cycle (NiMH batteries only - this step is skipped for Li-Ion batteries).
Step 2: The first battery charge cycle.
Step 3: The second battery discharge cycle (up to two batteries at a time) - the accumulated capacity is
measured.
Step 4: The final battery charge cycle is in progress, while the measured capacity is displayed by the
continuously lit Test-LED (either green, yellow or red).
Charging is complete when the Charge-LED is continuously green. The LED for the measured capacity
remains lit.
Remove the fully charged battery from the charger.
Battery Error:
If the charger detects a battery error, both LEDs flash in red. To clear this error indication, remove the battery.
Do not use a defective battery.
