C7089H OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
IMPORTANT
Erratic temperature readings from a sensor can
be prevented with the following practices:
• Use shielded cable for wiring to reduce
interference (noise) when rerouting is not
possible.
• Do not route temperature sensor wiring with
building power wiring, next to control
contactors or near light dimming circuits,
electric motors or welding equipment.
• Avoid poor wiring connections.
• Avoid wiring near intermittent or missing
building earth ground.
All wiring must comply with applicable local codes,
ordinances and regulations.
IMPORTANT
For proper wiring, use a maximum 18- to
22-gauge wire with a maximum length of 300 ft.
(91m).
Wire the sensor to the two OUT terminals on the H1008A
Automatic Humidity Control. See Fig. 2.

OPERATION
The C7089H Outdoor Temperature Sensor converts
outdoor ambient temperature to a resistance that the
H1008A Automatic Humidity Control can interpret.
CHECKOUT
Allow the sensor to soak in the outdoor air for a minimum
of five minutes before taking a reading.
With an accurate thermometer of 1°F (0.5°C), measure the
temperature at the sensor location, allowing time for the
thermometer to stabilize before reading.
To verify the resistance of the sensor, remove one wire
from one of the wiring terminals. Use an ohmmeter to
measure the resistance across the sensor. Then verifiy the
sensor accuracy using the temperature/resistance curve of
Fig. 3.
