6. With the clamps connected, the automotive battery tester will display the
battery's state of charge. If the charge is lower than 12 V (for 12 V batteries) or
6 V (for 6 V batteries), the battery should be recharged before load test.
If recharging cannot bring the voltage to a value higher than 12 V respectively
6 V, the battery is defective and it has to be replaced.
If the display does not show any value at all, check for loose or reversed
clamps.
7. For a load test, briefly press the testing button LOAD (7). The tester sounds a
long beep and then automatically does a load test for 10 seconds.
If the voltage of the battery is lower than 12 V (respectively lower than 6 V),
the display will show "- L -". This indicates that the battery should be recharged
before testing it again.
After 10 seconds load test, the tester will sound two beeps indicating load test
is done. During load test, you can read the load voltage on the display and the
three coloured LEDs (1), (2) and (3) indicate the battery status.
Notes:
 Caution: The housing of the automotive battery tester may become hot during
operation. There is risk of burns.
 If the display shows "Er1" during load test, the tester or its relay is defective.
 If the display shows "Er2" after load test, disconnect the tester immediately
from the battery to prevent overload. In this case, strike the area indicated in
the following figure with a screwdriver at least three times and re-connect to
test:
Strike this
Area.
 After you have successfully performed the load test five times, the display will
show "OL" if you press the LOAD button once more. Connect the device to a
different battery or disconnect the clamps from the battery and re-connect
them again; otherwise the tester will not work.
