Problem
Cylinder does not advance,
advances slowly or in
spurts
Cylinder advances, but
does not hold pressure

Troubleshooting Guide

Possible Cause
1. Oil level in pump reservoir is low
2. Release valve is open
3. Loose hydraulic coupler
4. Air trapped in system
5. Cylinder plunger binding
1. Leaking oil connection
2. Leaking seals
3. Internal leakage in pump
1. Release valve closed
2. Pump reservoir over filled
3. Loose hydraulic coupler
4. Air trapped in system
5. Cylinder retraction spring broken or
other cylinder damage
6. Additional tooling on cylinder too heavy
6. Lift the lower bed a little by applying pressure at pull side of
cylinder (cylinder port B).
7. Remove the four support pins of the lower bed.
8. Lower the bed by extending the plunger till the holes of the
press-frame and the bed are on the same level.
9. Reposition the four support pins.
10. Extend the plunger a little in order to be able to release the
hydrajust from the bed.
11. Either repeat step 2 to 9 for an other step down or unscrew
the hydrajust from the plunger.
WARNING: Do not forget to re-assemble the saddle to
the plunger. Never use the press without proper
mounted saddle!
6.2 Raising the Lower Bed
Raising the lower bed is achieved by the same operations as
described in §6.1, however in this case the plunger has to be
retracted instead of extended. This means that the hydrajust has
to be put in place under the bed with an extended plunger.
7.0 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
1. Add oil to pump
2. Close pump release valve
3. Check that all couplers are fully tightened
4. Remove air according to §4.4 Air Removal
5. Check for damage to cylinder. Have cylinder
serviced by a qualified hydraulic technician
1. Check that all connections are tightened
2. Locate leak(s) and have equipment serviced by
a qualified hydraulic technician
3. Have pump serviced by a qualified hydraulic
technician
1. Open pump release valve
2. Drain oil level to full mark
3. Check that coupler(s) are fully tightened
4. Remove air according to §4.4 Air Removal
5. Have cylinder serviced by a qualified hydraulic
technician
6. Remove tooling, check cylinder for damage
