b. While the vehicle is off and the phone is manually powered on,
both the phone and car kit will power on for use. (If the charge on
the phone battery is too low, the vehicle ignition may need to be
turned on in order for the phone and car kit to power on).
ENTERTAINMENT MUTE
When connected to a compatible audio system, this feature will auto-
matically mute audio output during phone calls and other audio func-
tions of the car kit. This feature is suspended when in RS232 data
configuration (RS232 data cable is connected to cradle data port).
REMOVING THE PORTABLE PHONE FROM THE PHONE
CRADLE
1. Press down on the cradle release button. The portable phone will be
released from the phone cradle.
2. Lift the portable phone toward the top of the cradle to remove the
phone. (See Figure 9 below).

CHARGING THE BATTERY

The Car Kit is designed to operate with the i85s/i50sx/i55sr phones with
Motorola-approved battery packs.
When the portable phone is placed in the cradle, battery charging auto-
matically takes place. The charger will charge a completely discharged
battery, to 80% of its full capacity, in two to six hours (depending on the
size of the battery) when the phone is not being used for voice or data
calls.
