2. Water leaks from the faucet or system.
Possible causes: (a) tubing is not properly connected to the diverter, or (b) filters may be loose.
Solution to problem (a): Disconnect the tubing as described in installation steps 4 and 5. Reconnect the
tubes, making sure that ends are pushed all the way against the ends of the connectors. Tighten the
collars that secure the tubes securely. Turn on the faucet tap and check for leaks.
Solution to problem (b): Check filter units (see filter replacement section) and make sure the filter
cartridges are firmly connected.
3. Flow rate is slow.
Possible causes: (b) input or output tube may be bent or kinked, (b) air pockets may remain in filters, or
(c) there is a drop in water pressure.
Solution to problem (a): Check tubing and straighten if necessary.
Solution to problem (b): Turn the system upside down, turn on faucet, and pull out diverter pin. Allow
water to flow for three minutes.
Solution to problem (c): Filters may be clogged with contaminants. Replace water filters.
Test this by turning on tap and running water through the tap water (non-PiMag™) setting. If the water
flow is still reduced, the problem is not with the filters, but with the household water pressure.
4. Filtered water is rusty or red in color.
Possible cause: There is a high content of soluble iron in tap water.
Solution to problem: The filters are not designed to remove soluble iron. This is a problem with the
household plumbing or water supply.
5. Filtered water has an odor.
Possible causes: (a) filters need replacing, or (b) water may have remained in filters over an extended
period of time.
Solution to problem (a): Replace filters.
Solution to problem (b): Flush the system by letting the water flow for several minutes. If this does not
correct the problem, replace filters.
6. Occasional white sediment in water.
Possible causes: (b) presence of calcium carbonate from water that has been boiled or frozen, or
(a) calcium from ceramic elements may be dissolved in water.
Solution to problem: This occasional condition is
normal. No action is required; simply let the water
flow until clear.
