TROUBLESHOOTING

Review this table to find do-it-yourself solutions for minor performance problems.
Any service needed, other than maintenance described in this Use & Care Guide,
should be performed by a Sears or other qualified service agent.
Disconnect electrical supply before performing maintenance to the
unit. Failure to do so could result in electrical shock or personal injury.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Power cord not firmly plugged
into outlet.
2. Blown house fuse or tripped
house circult breaker.
3. Thermal protector activated.
4. Cleaner not turned on.
1. Dust bin not installed correctly
2. Dust bin full.
3. Brushroll worn
4. Broken or worn belt.
5. One or both filters clogged.
6. Carpet height setting is
incorrect.
7. Vacuum circuit breaker tripped. 7. Reset breaker switch - Pg.9
8. Clog in small hose in Suction
Diverter.
1. Dust bin full.
2. Dust bin not installed correctly.
3. Hose not installed correctly.
4. HEPA filter clogged.
5. Filter assembly not positioned
properly.
6. Motor filter clogged.
1. Hose clogged.
2. Dust bin full.
3. One or both filters clogged.
1. Bulb burnt out.
2. Loose electrical wires.
1. Carpet height setting is
incorrect.
2. Broken or worn belt.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION
1. Plug unit in firmly.
2. Check fuse or breaker in home.
Replace fuse / reset breaker.
3. Allow cleaner to cool.-Pg.5
4. Press on/off button.
1. Review dust bin removal and
replacement - Pg.12
2. Empty dust bin - Pg.12
3. Replace brushroll - Pg.15
4. Replace belt - Pg.15
5. Remove filters and clean - Pg.13
6. Set carpet height adjust lever
to appropriate setting for carpet

8. Inspect and clean out Suction

4. Replace HEPA filter
5. Ensure that filter assembly is

6. Clean motor filter.

bin for obstructions: remove
obstruction. If clog persists, take
vacuum cleaner to a Sears or
other qualified service dealer.
