Follow the instructions in the safety data sheet for which hydraulic
oil to use.
Wear safety shoes around the nut splitter, including when trans-

porting it.
Wear suitable gloves to protect yourself against hand injuries.
Wear suitable protective goggles. Protective goggles will protect
your eyes against metal splinters.
1. Open the hydraulic pump's pressure relief valve.
2. Close the hydraulic pump's release valve.
3. Move the nut splitter back and forth a few times to remove air
from the hydraulic system.
4. Position the nut splitter on the nut to be removed. A flat surface
of the nut must rest against the flat surface of the nut splitter. The
illustration shows the correct and incorrect positioning:

Moisten the splitting chisel with cutting oil (e.g. KUKKO Bio Multi
Oil, item number 699990). Using cutting oil will increase the
service life of the chisel.
5. Carefully press the hand pump until the nut has split. Do not
drive the chisel too far. This will prevent damage from being
caused to the external thread of the workpiece.
